Battlefield 1 Collector's Edition is really expensive and has No Game?

I propose that all references to the PS3 in 2006 and 2007 be referred to "Battlefield 1".

"I bought my Battlefield 1 at launch. Can't believe I spent $600"

"Sony announced that MGS4 will be coming out next year on the Battlefield 1"

Then what would you call the other Battle 1 Collector's editions that DO come with the games? Including the $190 one, and  the $220 one.

Stop ruining my fun with your technicaliities!

Goodness, I guess someone needs to tell Amazon and EA they can't sell this because you can't understand that it's the extras that are the collector's part, not the game itself.  How dare they.  Looks like you're the one that needs to jog on, as they likely don't give a rat's ass about your internet whining.

Except no one's whining just pointing out how comical the situation is it's amusing watching you and jim bob get tilted over it as well. jog on son.

I think you're confused, blun.  I'm being amused at people get murfed at Amazon providing options.  Watching you plink off over it has made my day.  Keep complaining, boy, and maybe they'll realize the error of their ways.  You could do a petition!

So why do they need a steelbook to have a game in?

You do know ... you can display the steelbook without the game inside?  I mean, you're saying people who buy a digital copy can't have this because they can't put a game case in it?  That's kind of amazing.

Thats just sad...

Reminds me of that Halo 5 collectors edition that came with a digital code of the game.

Lol

Why even sell a CE without the game? Isn't it kinda retarded?

Firstly, the R-word.  Making fun of people with developmental disabilities?  Not cool.

Secondly, I agree that selling it without the game is potentially incredibly confusing.  Why call it a special edition of the game as opposed to a collector's pack or something?

However, a collector's edition that comes with a digital code would be far preferrable for me.  If I'd known I had that option, I would have considered that!  Instead I pre-ordered through the dashboard, as I'm digital-only for this generation of game systems.

The one and only way this collector's edition makes sense to me is in the case of someone who purchases the game digitall, falls in love with it, and wishes they'd had the collector's edition goodies.  I just hope they make that *very* clear on the packaging, lest people make the mistake of thinking they had bought the game.  That would be particularly bad in the case of a gift!

It's only one of many reasons of prefering digital version, space ain't the issue for everyone.

What are the other reasons then?

  • PC: no typing in long serial numbers for game activation, just buy the games in the digital store (convenience)
  • console + PC: no typing in long DLC-codes, just buy them in the digital store (convenience)
  • PC: no intrusive disc protection systems like SecuROM, StarForce, SafeDisc, Tages... (convenience + security)
  • console + PC: switching between games without switching discs (little convenience for healthy people in the same room, a big help for disabled or bedridden people or while using remote play from far away)
  • PC: games playable on laptops and other form factors without a disc drive (convenience + less battery drain + saving money)
  • console + especially PC: often better deals, more aggressive discounts than at the portly retail market (saving money)
  • free games, f.e. Origin's "on the house"... no developer/publisher will distribute free retail games due to logistic and shipping costs (saving money)
  • handhelds: no need to carry around a bunch of game modules with you, which can be damaged, lost or stolen (convenience)
  • handhelds + console / Microsoft's "Play Anywhere": Cross-buy + Cross-Play (saving money + convenience)
