I'm wondering how many Pokemon hunters I'll see next month in Cologne (GamesCom).

You and me both.Hope to see a tidal wave of trainers there.Would be certainly exciting!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I downloaded the app and.... it's honestly not very good. It works.... occasionally, and it gets repetetive after capturing like 10 pokemons. Maybe it's unique for people that don't normally go out for walks, but I go hiking and whatnot all the time. And tbh I prefer bot using my phone when doing so. Oh well, I'm not the target audience.

Loving all the related media pokemon go news XD.

This is caused by n00bs who don't understand how Pokémon evolve in the game. Go do some real Pokémon hunting and evolve your shit. 😒 After a week, I evolved 4 Vaporeons, 1 Flareon and 1 Jolteon

Star Wars has done it three times.

However, generally once something has achieved massive, multi-generational appeal spanning several decades, it is ok to stop calling it a fad.

I don't think the prequels were ever very popular.

not true, the buildup and hype for Episode 1 was massive

Since Zelda BOTW Nintendo just seem to be steamrolling, Pokemon GO has taken over the world and they're rocking the mobile platform before AC and FE have even arrived, if this carries over to the NX the industry will be turned on its head again.

Succeeding in mobile would give me great confidence that the NX will do well because I have no doubt that Nintendo will use their mobile games as a way to advertise the NX and its games, rekindle Nintendo's brand in the eyes of the average person and try to lure them into Nintendo's ecosystem with some kind of mynintendo integration.

Yup, you're not the target audience;  neither am I though.   To me, it's like a giant easter egg hunt that you're playing with the entire world.  I think people also love the social aspect of it as well as that feeling of reverting back to being a kid when people would go out on little adventures around their neighborhood after school trying to find treasure and other goodies.

Remember that footage in the first ad with Mewtwo appearing on Timesquare and everyone having their phones out trying to catch it, we all scoffed at?

This is basically it. It's pretty amazing.

There was certainly hype but afterward, a sense of dread took over and it was cemented after episode 2.

If that ever happens people should be extra careful so as not to actually harm someone. But all of this is amazing!
