Well, Pokemon Go will now last at least 10 years!

Good thing its doing just that. Besides without it itll still be big for more than a month

Depends entirely on the frequency of updates and what those updates actually are.
Game needs a friend system, a battle system and a trade system first and foremost for it to remain a success. After that, just give us new generations every 6-7 months and new events for legendaries or shinies every month.

Really? You don't know who Pachter is.
Michael Pachter is a video game, social media, digital media and electronics analyst with Wedbush Securities. |
Oh, okay. Does he actually influence anything? He just looks like some random guy trying to get attention. I'm reading some of this guy's other predictions and it's like he's from another reality.

He fucking stole that from me -.-

Pokemon Go seems like a glorified pokedex app to me so I doubt its lasting appeal. There are other and probably better GPS games out there which shows that Pokemon Go pretty much only sells by its name. I'll give it a few months max until people get bored or are tired of having to run around all the time. |
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Because the job was open and nobody took it. It is true he is much wrong but that is not rare on the internet you can find some old crazy predictions thread. The thing is if someone predict something and end up right the thread will mostly get necrobumped and if Pachter was you will not see a thread getting bumped up. When Ms announced they will sell retail games digitally he said it is not going to be a massive succes and the attach rate barely will be 20% in ten years.
In retrospect it is nice to watch old silly predictions like the Wii well barely sell 10 million (mind you most gamers on forums expected that it will have a hard time beating the game cube LTD sales). On Vghcartz we had a guy with a Panda avatar who expected that Kinect would sell more than 20 million...he was basically the only one who expected it and I think he was called the pachter of Vgchartz because he is going to be so wrong....
A good question is why we don't have more people getting paid for predictions? Maybe because it is a hard job with people who would laugh with old predictions?
honestly I don't know what to predict about Pokemon Go..I can see it being still crazy popular in a year but at the same time I would also not be surprised that in 3 months the number of players is 10% of what it is today...

$1.6 million for 120 days (4 months) will make a revenue of almost $200 million.
As reference:
the same revenue will come from selling ~3.2 million copies of a $60 retail game (MK8 in US ~3.1 million)
