Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pokemon Go now competing with Twitter in terms of daily active users!

This is simply insane. It's only been a few days and this thing has blown up. Once again, not up my alley, but you can't help but applaud Nintendo and Niantic for their efforts.

It's even got more popular than porn. Thats not a joke.

"I've no idea how to play Pokemon Go, but that won't prevent me from becoming obsessed with it"

Just saw that facebook post from a friend who's the single last person I'd ever expect to play this sort of this. He's a wrestling coach, history teacher, bourbon drinking kind of guy who I've never seen play or mention a video game before.

That's about the point that I knew this game was going crazy lol

I was pretty indifferent to this game, but now I'm pretty interested and would get the game... if I could download it normally in my region :/

And it's not even available worldwide, though I fear that by the time it's releases in my region it will become irrelevant just like miitomo, but this is pokemon so it probably won't happen.

This is freaking incredible, I was expecting this game to be a fever but holy shit this is beyond what I could have imagined.

After the initial excitement, miitomo died down quick. They could bring back that interest if they wanted, but I think that was just an experiement or they would have spent more time on it.

I agree.  I think Miimoto was used as an experiment/sacrificial lamb to see how they would approach using mynintendo on mobile apps and gauge the differences between traditional and mobile game development so there aren't any major surprises when they bring out games based on their money IPs.  Investors were upset that Nintendo didn't make a game based on a popular IP as their first mobile game but it probably would have been stupid for them to do so without any experience on the platform.

Meanwhile in europe......*sound of crickets*

And it has yet to be released in most of the world. This thing is going to be one of THE biggest mobile games ever. Pokemon is an insanely strong brand, even after all these years.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
