Why he would said that game is almost finished if game wasn't in development at all!? That doesn't make any sense.

Game was definitely a development at least two years, and definitely was in development last year, most likely they had Wii U version near finished when they decided to project to NX.

Of Course, we just exchange opinions. ;) For me it's very obvious that Pikmin 4 is in development and most likely we will see it in NX 1st year.

But that's exactly what he did with Pikmin 3! He said they were working on it at e3 a few years back even though that wasn't the truth. :p

How exactly do you know it wasn't in development by then? Oh... Yeah, you don't. Development hells are real, anyway, and the game definitely started on Wii, because sometimes it looks like a game made for it.

Not much to say, just that I hope it doesn't take more than a year to see the title releasing, on NX, 3DS or whatever, I just want it right now.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Doesnt mean at all, most likly game was in full devolpment in year or two ago and basicly was near completion, but in meantime Nintendo deciaded to move whole game to NX from Wii U and that requre more time and resources, but curently Pikmin isn't priority compared to some other much stronger games that Nintendo is preparing for NX launch lineup. Pikmin isn't system seller so of course they will prioritize and move resources to some much stronger games that they want to have for NX launch, when they finishe those more prioritize games they will return resources to Pikmin 4.

You cant really say that game is almost finished without any reason.

Priority = something that is more important than other things and that needs to be done or dealt with first. Whether Pikmin 4 was ever a Wii U game and when exactly they decided to move it to NX is just speculation, but it's safe to say 2014 was the cut-off point as that was last year for significant Wii U game announcements, so the Pikmin 4 announced in 2015 was likely either a pure NX game or already moved/being moved from Wii U.

Also the bolded, Miyamoto just said it is or atleast will be a priority now and that it never was before. The rest of your post just explains the obvious as to why Pikmin wasn't a priority which no one said otherwise about.

The reason is to build consumer confidence.

I know what is prioirete, and games like Zelda, 3D Mario some bigger IPs are definatly prioirete compared to Pikmin.

Miyamoto didn't that Pikmin wasn't priorite, he just said that isn't currently but it will be soon, that doesnt mean game wasn't priorite year or two ago.

There was no real reason at all to make such a confidence at that point especially if that wasn't true, nobody says that game is almost finished if they didnt on that game at all, he could just say we have plans or in worst case we working on Pikmin 4, not game is almost finished. I gave you explantaion that has most sense.

You really don't know that, espacily because in meantime they move project to Wii U. I relly dont see point of annucing game on you dont work at all, Nintendo never done that before.

Would be surprised if this wasn't a launch title for the NX

I can barely make out what you're saying, but Miyamoto clearly says they've been trying to make it a priority. Can't try to make something a priority if it already is one.

"it has been hard to kind of fit that into that list, but we’re hopefully starting to see that on the list now."

That quote certainly doesn't mean it ever was a priority, as he never says it was ever removed from the list, only that it had yet to be added.

Deny it if you want, but consumer confidence is a valid reason that explains much of the bs Nintendo says, from lying about new hardware models to continued software support on Wii U.

Imho Pikmin 4 is ready and done for NX from almost a year, which leaves plenty of time for the Pikmin team to work on something new which is pretty exciting !

That is not what he said-  It sounds like the development has not started yet or it has been pushed aside due to other higher priorities- but who knows with Nintendo -  It is hard to take much of anything they say seriously as they are very vague (typically) and contradict themsevles/each other often or just flat out lie to their consumer base -

Would be great to have Pikmin, Zelda and Mario in NX's first year. Possibly other Wii U projects being transferred as well

Dont forget that Retro project and Next Level Game project are also on scheduled to be released in NX first year.

It does not sound like Pikmin will be ready for launch of NX -   also  didn t Myamoto just say at e3 that they MAY have a new Mario game ready to show at e3 in 2017 or even 2018? -  aagain anything is possible but it dd nt sound like Mario was a lock for NX 1st year but probably year 2

Like I wrote, game could be priorite year or two ago, but for instance was pushed aside in favour of more important games that Nintendo preparing, so they looking to put it again priorite. So game isnt on curent list of priorites, but that doent mean that game wanst on that list year or two ago. That isnt relly hard to imagine and its most likly scenario.

"It's actually very close to completion," Miyamoto said. "Pikmin teams are always working on the next one."

Nintendo then confirmed the news to Eurogamer in a separate statement:

"We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present."

So not only Miyamoto last year said that game is close to completion, Nintendo later confirmed that Pikmin 4 is in development, so game was close to completion and that imply that game was far in development last year and they were focused on that game, but later most likely whole project is moved to NX and that require additional development time, in meantime they were higher priority games.

This case is very obvious, game was definitely in development last year and actual "close to completion".

Probably not for launch but I definatly see it in NX first year. About Mario, offcourse he will say "maybe", its way to early for any confirmation when NX still isn't still reviled, but fact he mentioned E3 most likely means Mario 3D World scenario, E3 2017. reveal and 2017. holiday launch, also Mario 3D World is finished in 2013. so new 3D Mario will definitely be finished in 2017. It looks like Nintendo definatly aims 3D Mario like big title for NX first holiday season while they have new Zelda like huge launch game. Also there is chance will actually see new 3D Mario on Nintendo fully revile NX and show NX games.

In various previous interviews Miyamoto stated that whenever the development of a Pikmin title ends the development of the next one starts, so it means that Pikmin 4 must have been in development from 2013 to 2015, imho that's enough for the game to be completed and now the team can help other teams to speed up the development on bigger titles OR work on something completely new.
