Forums - Sony - If you had to choose PS4 emulation for: PS1, PS2 or PS3, which one?

What emulation previous PS console emulation would you love to see on PS4?

PS1 10 8.13%

PS2 44 35.77%

PS3 65 52.85%

PocketStation emulation 4 3.25%

Total:123

As is being asked in the thread title, which emulation for PS4 would you choose if offered the option, emulation for PS1, PS2 or PS3?

Why?

What games made you decide for the emulation you chose?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

PS3, and at that I'd buy a PS4 in a heartbeat. Just that there's so many PS3 games from 7th gen that I missed out on.

bet: lost

PS3 easily.

I still have a PS3 and I can do all of my PS1 emulation on my Vita, so I would chose the PS2 for sure.

PS3 emulation is impossible on the PS4. I expect it will be impossible on the Neo.

While part of me would like it if PS4 put their full range of PS1 classics on the PS4, I do actually really enjoy the trophy support (I am less enthusiastic about the improved resolution, anti-aliasing, and frame rate, but that is personal preference. And they're not as detracting from the original experience as the regular artifacts you see on the emulation). I would love to play the original Spyros with the right analog stick to control the camera and trophies. Having recently replayed Spyro 3, I forgot how clunky it felt using L1/R1 to control the camera.

I would love it if the PS4 eventually gets a full library of PSP, PSV, PS1, and PS2 titles. But since it currently is building a PS2 library, I would like PS1 titles as well at some point.

All of them.

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

Ps3 cause I can emulate ps2 and ps1 on my pc :P

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

If I had to choose one I would go with PS3.

In reality, though, I think PlayStation will eventually have full backwards compatability for all PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS Vita, and PS4 games via both Natively on PS5 and via Streaming on PS Now for non Sony hardware.

PS3 would get the most fan fare.

I feel like PS2 emulation appeals mostly to JRPG fans. But I like the PS2 emulation, I have numerous titles on my PS3 and PS4.
