It's actually happened a couple times. The Halo 3 launch. The European PS3 launch. Also, post holiday the PS3 had a surge when the Wii stock was exhausted.

personally i think that during the ps3 price drop the ps3 will beat the wii. and also MAYBE during the gta4 release both consoles might beat the wii. but its a long shot because nintendo is probably stockpiling for gta4 so that they can steal some of sony and microsoft's thunder.

There have been only two occasions when the Wii fell behind in worldwide sales, and neither lasted more than two weeks. The first was the PS3 European launch (March 2007) and the other was Halo's release (Sep. 2007). I think what's also interesting is how the PS3 and 360 have been tracking at a nearly identical level throughout their lifespans so far, despite a great deal of rhetoric on both sides.

If MGS4 is released in all territories in the same week, PS3 will probably edge Wii. Don't think Final Fantasy will give PS3 a worldwide victory, since its released in each territory several months apart. It will be top in Japan the week it is released though.

For PS3 its MGS4. It will get a massive bonus due to the bundle pre-orders as well as people buying PS3's for the game.

360's best shot is next price drop in America.

Both together, well thats a tough one, maybe if Res 2 and Gears 2 are same week?

also for the 360 is possibly the release date of gow2 but most of the people who will buy that are the owners of the original.



the nintendo wii will outsell the ps3 and the 360 combined by the end of 2008.                           

        PS3 will out sell the 360 june 2010.                                                                      

  GOTY of 2008 is super smash brothers brawl.... hopefully.
