That's why I said "same kind", not "same". There are a wide variety of word processors, spreadsheet apps, video editing apps, music production apps, painting/illustration apps, programming apps available on the iPad, many of which have a direct equivalent on Mac OS or Windows. |
There are apps on consoles, tablets and smartphones too. There's not a lot simply on the PS4 for example simply because there isn't any demand for it. Unless you're telling me that there is a specific set of apps that are required to consider a device a personal computer. But in any case, it seems that you consider a smartphone a personal computer, right?

It is a silly argument.
But the point still stands that all your console games will end up on PC in the end anyway...
I still have a ton of fun emulating some old games from the SNES/PSX era on my PC, they look and run better than the originals... And sometimes, those older games are better than their sucessors anyway.

I don't give a crap if you think PC is superior. Nobody cares..
I spent almost €9000 on my workstation, yet i don't game on my PC. My workstation consists of 3 monitors, 1 laptop, 4 androids, 1 ipad, and 1 monster PC. Even the chair on my workstation is far more expensive than my ride.
My cousin took a picture of my workstation, then showed and told everyone that it's his workstation. He thinks that my workstation is cool. lol... What do i think of my workstation? I hate it!! I hate sitting on it, i hate looking at my monitors. I hate it!
Do you know why i don't game on PC? Because it's a stressful environment. I hate when someone is pinging me on Skype. I feel like i want to explode when there are more than 2 persons pinging me on Skype.
People that use PC extensively in their jobs won't be able to relax in front of a PC. Even psychiatrists give advice to stay away from PC when you want to relax.
Screw the PC!!

Damn son. Are you one of my customers who make billions of dollars but get a hissy fit when their network goes down?!
one of the best posts in the thread regardless
But about the pinging on Skype thing....am I the only one on VGChartz that knows a "Sign off/out" option is available on different sites/applications? Still cant believe people requested bans simply because they cannot log off l0l. |
Not only that. But you get pinged on consoles these days too. Messages, Unlocked Achievements, Updates/Downloads, On the Xbox One I even get pings when my Extrenal HDD is ready.... You name it.
Perhaps he didn't realise you could right-click Skype in his system tray and click on "Quit"?

Another argument in favor of consoles was that at least console owners didn't have to constantly upgrade their hardware to enjoy the latest games, but now with mid-gen hw upgrades like Neo and Scorpio coming there's a possibility that some games wont be playable or certain features won't be fully utilized on the current crop of X1 / PS4 consoles.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
