i find that doubtful, but perhaps you're right. so it would mean a friend of mine could buy game X and I would be able to play it with him on my pc? seems like they might only lose on game sales if that's the case. at the same time gives me no intention to ever buy their hardware in the future because I plan to always have a great gaming pc available.

Again, I don't know the exact details, but I am CERTAIN that at the very least, select 1st party MS games, or possibly ALL MS first party games are going to be "cross-buy". I don't know why you find it doubtful. Sony has been doing it for a while already. In fact, MS has already done it with Alan Wake. Buy the XBO version, get it for free on PC. It turned out badly though. It was like buying a new car, and getting complimentary kick in the balls.

I see what you're saying, but still in the case of the cross buy in Sony's case, I could be wrong, but I can't be playing on LAN style the same game on the same account at the same time. So, for example, if I'm playing Dragon Crown on my Vita, I don't think someone can be logged on my PS4 on the same account coop'ing with me. And in the case of Sony it's pretty specific games that are even crossbuy, they won't be nearly all games, only smaller titles that can even run on a Vita.

Now let's imagine, if I buy the next FIFA, COD, Battlefield, etc and use the same copy to play both on the console AND the PC at the same time, that's pretty much saying, yeah you can buy 1 and get 2.

So that's the reason why I was questioning the original comment I quoted, having the same 1 copy of the game playable on both machines at the same time sounds really really unlikely. I would need to see some confirmation on this specifically to believe it.

Hope I managed to make myself clear on my skepticism :P

So can I buy a chromebook to play AAA games? Sign me up.

That's like me saying "So I can buy an Ouya to play AAA games? Sign me up"

So that's a no? Darn, really wanted to play Battlefront on a Chromebook

i don't understand... the 2 people play the same game on 2 different systems at the same time?

i assume you bought 1 copy of the game correct? so how can you play with the person in the living room?

a side question would be, if you already are a pc gamer, why buy a box that literally has no game your pc can't play? on top of it paying every year to be able to play online. it would be more cost effective, not to mention better performance to get a 2nd pc tower for 500/600$

1) There are games you buy for Xbox which then become free to play on PC.

2) If you were to compare my Xbox and PC game collections (I am willing to link them to you if you want) I have a significant amount of duplicates on both platforms, because I enjoy playing them on different platforms at different times and at different locations.

I don't look at the platforms competing and replacing each other, I look at them as platforms that compliment each other, not everyone has my disposable income though.

3) If Exclusives sell consoles, why has the Wii U which has arguably a bigger exclusive library than Xbox One, done so poorly? I think Multiplatform titles are ultimately more important.

4) You can remote play Xbox games on any PC.

But a Xbox One is still much cheaper than a gaming PC. It's a good alternative.

Not always. And depends what you want.

Cringe worthy.

You could also put a PC in a... Wait for it... Playstation 4 or Xbox One case.

Or, heck. Put it in a Microwave.

I hear what you're saying and I'm not criticizing you for wanting to own all platforms at all.

I just wanted to confirm if you had some specific confirmation from MS that 1 game copy would be playable at the same time on the 2 platforms.

Like for example, buying 1 copy of FIFA and having someone on the console playing against you on the PC. That's what I understood by your original comment, so that's what I was trying to clarify.

In my case, for example, I have DVI  + an HDMI cable connecting my PC to my TV just in case I want to play a PC game while laying in bed or something, so I completely know the appeal of having the same game in different places.

i know you're being facetious, but I'll reply just in case. You need windows 10 to be running on the hardware, so no, a chromebook won't do.

i'm sure with the current price of the console you can buy a pc that will play the Xbox 1 games, so if your point is the price of a pc is high, that's not a very good point at all

Not everyone can afford a gaming PC.

You don't need a gaming PC to game on PC.
Consoles will cost you more anyway because of the game prices.

How big of a percentage of gamers do you think know this? Building a PC is far more of a hassle than bying a console and if you buy a factory made PC, it will still be more expensive than a console. Plus, you don't have an easy interface for games on PC (since there are GOG, Steam, Origin, Windows Store and so on) so there is nothing easy or accesible on PC for the average gamer. Thos if why consoles are so attractive for many people. Also, with all the games we get for free with, for example, XBLG, we save a ton of money as well. Gaming has never been so cheap.

Knowing that every upcoming Microsoft published game will release on PC, is it fair to say, that are no more reasons to own an Xbox? If you own a PC, PS4 and a NX, then you'll have access to every game in the world, what is the point?

What is the point that you buy games not exclusive on PS4 on your PS4 even though you could play them on PC. Some with mod support or simply with higher settings and petty much always cheaper?

I mean, if you think there is no point for people to play on an Xbox I wonder why almost all PS4 owners play more games available even cheaper on PC on their PS4 as they play exclusive PS4 games?

If you will just start to be a PC player because you get Xbox games on it then MS and the Xbox brand won't suffer from it and if you already own a PC and prefer to play games available on PC on a console then you can still buy an Xbox and the Xbox brand won't suffer from it. And if you like to have a console in your living room and a PC in another room then also no prob, just play every game you own in both rooms on different systems

This is really a horrible world we live in!

Some people need one hardware less now, let's be proud as owners of systems mandatory to play certain games (PS4 as example) that we still need to buy these consoles even if it costs us just more money for the hardware we could spend for games instead! Too bad we don't have 100 different console manufacturers and all with excluisve games instead of all these games just releasing on PC, buying all these consoles would be so much greater! Greatness would really await us then!

Alot of people dont understand the difference between console only gamers and PC gamers. Sure if your like me who plans on buying a 4k PC setup soon, i know many friends that would pick an Xbox console. Also seems they forget what Xbox means for them and the market. High end PC users are into premium gaming, Xbox is also a house device that plays Blu Ray movies and 4k videos (Slim).

The ignorance of people shooting down Xbox because of Win10 PCs. The day Xbox dies is the same day every one plugs there PCs in there living room. Honestly what a joke haha

Steam link costs like.... $50. Having to have a PC in the same room you use it isn't really a valid argument anymore lol, and streaming to a display in another room is just going to become more and more prevalent with time.

Steam alone isn’t going to get you Xbox exclusives, you need Windows 10 and a decent PC to run them. Let’s be honest here, Xbox is in a market separate to PCs. With your logic, No one will buy Laptops because Tablets are available. No it’s not happening anytime soon. Xbox is focus more around the living room. I don’t know anyone where I have seen their PC gaming towers plugged into their living rooms. That market is beyond a small amount. Xbox is basically your Steam Machine for consoles. It’s for those who don’t want to fork out big dollars and knowing the parts just to play Xbox games when there’s a perfectly good console on the market that can do that for you with no problems.

Xbox One S looks prettier sitting in your living room

Depends, A PC can look however you want it to look.

VERY PRETTY.

Should have went with a Real Doll instead. That way you could play it and play with it at the same time.

Never said it would, but there are multiple options for streaming that DO allow you to stream any game on your pc to a TV, Tablet or Phone, and that's just going to increase tenfold over the next 5 years.

Huh? What statement have I made that means someone shouldn't buy a Laptop because Tablets exist? Wtf? What logic are you referring to?
