Is Zelda really that popular? 10m "pretty quick"?

Seeing as no Zelda title has ever sold ten million copies ever (much less sold ten million consoles)...

Any amount of skepticism you have is reasonable...

I guess if it's anything like the Wii though it'll really help push it out the door if the console in itself seems worthwhile with a good price point.

I still think it won't push it quite as quick as that, but this is the second time a big Zelda has been launched, it has to move a good few consoles. While the Wii U had a few good games at launch it didn't have a must buy.

I doubt this, not when the game is coming out for Wii U too. I know Im waiting and not jumping on this console right away

PSN & XBOX GT : cutzman25

If a Zelda game can sell 10m NX that means that the Zelda game should sell 10m copies itself. But no Zelda game has ever even reached 8m copies sold. If the Wii couldn't do it I'm not sure NX can come close.

I will be picking this up for the Wii U however.

He had to jinx it... Let's hope he is wrong only about the "quick"

Really? You want the NX to sell 13m units in its first year? A feat that only PS4 and Wii managed so far and to top it off with a game with a dwindling fanbase?

Dwindling?  I would hardly say that's a fair assessment.  The original Twilight Princess is the best selling Zelda ever (not counting the absurd number of OoT rereleases :P ).  Skyward Sword sold over 4 million with the Wii's reputation shot to hell, the Wii U already announced with an HD Zelda demo being shown on it, in a year competing with Skyrim and with absolutely no advertisement whatsoever.  Not saying it will sell 13 million in its first 12 months but Zelda at launch is a heck of a lot better than most launch lineups.  I mean, Xbone had Rise: Son of Rome and the PS4 had Killzone Shadowfall as their two big exclusive games, neither one of which was memorable in any way other than technical achievements.  And yet they both had good launches and the PS4 had a great first year.  But it's more down to marketing than anything else.  Exclusives and launch titles are tools, you have to use them right.

Even though... 13M would be insane

I wish I could live in Pachter's fantasy world, where Zelda moves 10 million NX systems, Grand Theft Auto V arrived in 2010, everyone stopped making consoles after the seventh generation, Assassin's Creed II was set during the French Revolution, Kinect cost $50, and World of Warcraft fell to one million subscribers.

Non Nintendo fans, be at ease...NX will now officially be DOA.

Depends how good the console is really. Zelda will definitely help though.

Dang, we've gotten to the point where anything Pachter says can't be taken seriously. Now everyone he says is like the opposite now.
