Not if their system after NX is successful. Nintendo had two major failures in a row with N64 and GameCube, and then they had a winner with the Wii.

I had more fun with my N64 than GCN or Wii, so whatever, market success doesn't impact my enjoyment of a machine, especially when it doesn't really translate to anything tangiable for the consumer.

Thank you for your informative and relevant response. Now when a thread comes out asking "which consoles did Soundwave have more fun with?" I'll have my answer!

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

If it's not commercially successful, but still a good console (like the Gamecube) then sure. If it's not commercially successful, and not a very good console (like the Wii U) then no, I won't.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

After reading through a good bit of this thread, I can see why nintendo gets away with a lot of the things they do and don't do. Some seem to think they are married to the brand as in they'll "support" whatever nintendo does no matter what while others are just fans of nintendo who are more sensible and have conditions that nintendo has to meet in order for them to purchase a product or not.

Of course not, they're the only ones that make games I want to play =P

The Wii U failed? Did better than the dreamcast.

If you Align in the launches Dreamcast actaully outperformed the WiiU, they just knew when to pull the plug.

Yes the WiiU was a failure.

Thats fans for you. They do the same with fave singers, actors etc.

For me theres no other consoles and handleds besides from Nintendo that has the same amount of games WHICH I REALLY LIKE. Soooo if I abandon Nintendo what else would I have? I cant keep playing its old games forever.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Technically, I haven't REALLY cared for a Nintendo console since the SNES...but I eventually get them all anyway, just not at launch. I only buy for first party games really, so no need to rush out Day One....maybe if Breath of the Wild is an NX launch title though? :P

As much I like playstation games and the brand, there's certain conditions if sony ever met or broke, I would switch to gaming on PCs. Those conditions for me are not impossible to hit like others have set for nintendo like "as long they make the games I want, I'll keep buying...." as some of the others in this thread mentioned. Sony is already fllirting with one of my conditions. Upgrading consoles mid-gen and force me into upgrading. If they make any game exclusive to the PS4 neo or to a upgraded console, the PS4 will be my last playstation console or home console for the foreseeable future. I'm not married to the brand or "loyal" just for the sake of it. I buy their products because they interest me, as soon as that changes, I'll stop buying.

You could just play games on PC and broaden your tastes in game genres by trying some different games. Your tastes will change or evolve eventually to some extent. Sometimes you don't know you got an itch for something til ya scratch it. One of the most appealing perks about gaming on PCs is the mods. You could also emulate certain consoles after a while.

I bought the Wii U solely for the first party games, specifically Smash, so as long as Nintendo delivers in that regard, I don't really care.

Of course, when I say that, 2016 has been overall a pretty pathetic year just for exclusives alone.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

As long as they put out software I want to play, I'll support them. When they put out crap, I hold onto my money.
