Forums - Gaming - I'm Starting Zelda...Advice?

Oracle of Ages was my very first Zelda game and I loved it so much that I scraped together all of my pocket money for months in order to buy Oracle of Seasons too.
I think the Capcom Zeldas are very underrated, so good on you for starting with Ages! I think Ages has the more interesting story of the two (I've always loved the time travel aspect) but if you like it, be sure to give Seasons a try too and get to the true ending, it's worth it.

I've always wanted to play the Zeldas in order of the timelines but that would mean starting with Skyward sword, wich people either seem to hate or love and working your way up from there.
Since you're already playing the Oracle games I'd do on to Links Awakening -> Link between worlds -> The legend of Zelda. I'd skip Adventure of Link unless you absolutely want to try it.
I'd play Link to the past before Link between world though because you get more out of it that way.

That's as far as my two cents.

Well you already played OoT and I always say that OoT 3D and WW HD are best Zelda games to get start with series. After that you can go with every Zelda game you want.

Thanks for the advice guys. I kinda get the vibe that Wind Waker HD will be a good one to follow the Oracle games up with, so will go with that.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

If you've played OoT, you can really go anywhere. If you want to try out the older 2D Zeldas, play Link to the Past. If you want a weird, darker spin on OoT, play Majora's Mask. If you want a more modern OoT, play Twilight Princess. If you want a slower paced, adventurous Zelda, play Wind Waker. If you want a more condensed experience and you like motion controls, play Skyward Sword.

I say the original, Link's Adventure, A Link to the Past, anx Ocarina of Time are the mandatory Zelda titles to play. Link's Awakening & Majora's Mask are great as well. Things get a bit spotty beyond that, some good (Wind Waker), some not so good (Spirit Tracks).

They're basically all phenomenal. I would just start from the beginning and move forward. Or, if you're like me, start with Link to the Past, because the first two games can be really hard to get a hold on. But just play all the mainline games from there to get a sense of how the series progresses.

Avoid all portable games and Zelda II. Never played the original Zelda, so I can't comment on that.

I would recommend you to play in the natural order as well, just swapping Ocarina's position because you already played it: ALttP > Majora's Mask > Ocarina > The Wind Waker > Twilight Princess > Skyward Sword.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

if you already played Ocarina then play its wonderful sequel Majora's Mask

I would not try to beat all the Zelda games at once. You will get Zelda Fatigue by the time you get to the later ones. If you are truly serious about beating them all I would start with the original and work your way up. Do not worry about guides. I do not think I beat a Zelda game without one.

Oh and Zelda 2 is awesome! Do not let others discourage you! But..... it is also hard so it is not for the weak minded.

My first Zelda was Ocarina of Time, which it seems it's the same for you. If you have Wii U, Wii, or gamecube definitely get Wind Waker and TP next
