Forums - Microsoft - Judging by the reactions here, MS maybe is doing right with Scorpio.

Don't fall for this, people. The logic is so flawed that I can only assume the purpose here is to start a flame war. Criticism or negative speculation is certainly not always unjustified or driven only by fear. Moreover, this is a video-game forum during the biggest news week of the year; speculation about big announcements is to be expected.

Not only that, but looking at one of the threads the OP mentioned, many of those voicing negative opinions are Nintendo fans, yet that isn't mentioned. Seems kind of odd, doesn't it?

Don't be manipulated--at least not so obviously.

Don't worry many of us now that.

Definitely doing it right. Without Scorpio Sony fans would still be on about how the Neo will ruin consoles forever. Now that MS jumped on as well, people slowly come to terms with it.

I just feel really bad for MS. They do the right thing, releasing a very powerful console, try to get their games on as many devices as possible. Without any sarcasm I think this is great and probably the most pro consumer move anyone has made this gen. It's just so sad that because they're so consumer friendly I will never ever buy an Xbox since I already have a PC. Meanwhile I will most definitely buy a Neo. Even though it may be less powerful and Sony are still being assholes for not releasing their games for PC. I feel dirty for supporting the obvious scumbag this gen :(

Besides Scorpio, MS is turning into a major puplisher, with their own store on consoles, PC, and cell phones. If you buy their games, it will be ok for them. Is funny how the litany "Xbox hava no exclusives, all ends releasing on PC" is being here for years, and then Phil Spencer decided that if you can't fight that ghost, you better try to take advantage of it.

The business model of MS right now is to take their store to all the hardware they can. Maybe you don't want hardware of them right now, or maybe you'll never. But if you consider to buy it sometimes, you'll find that all their games in your videogames library will be here for you. Is a risky model, but is a good idea and could eventually succeed.

Tim and The Princes...

Unless sony fans are saying they're gonna buy scorpio, it's a bit silly to gauge scorpio's success by the reactions of sony fans.

Personally, I'm against both the PS4 neo and Scorpio. I don't care for upgraded consoles. It's a dumb business move by both sony and MS. It's ultimately bad for gamers and the gaming market in my opinion. I've been avoiding most threads about either one because I don't care to debate that topic.

Admittedly, I've been debating with others about E3 and over some untrue things that had to be set right. I've defended a few things MS has done and questioned their sanity with some of their moves.

Xbox community is dead on this site, they all vanished once the X1 flopped.

It isn't really a case that the people left VGchartz, My wall still has well over 150 X360 games on it from the previous Generation, I just got a PS4 this gen because it is the better option right now, still would love to see MS return to a 2008 X360 time of gaming though.

Just saying, I think the X360 fanbase is mostly still here... just possibly gaming on PC or PS4 right now.

Sony fans bash Xbox to feel better about they're purchase. They need to convince themselves they bought the right console, that can be said about all sides aswell.

But hey at least Sony fans care more about Xbox than Xbox fans do, look at all the discussion going on.

;)

One of the reasons why I love haters! Like sometimes they are faster and more updated than actual fans!

This is VGC, is pretty damn hard to be a Microsoft/Xbox fan here, there is an horde of people prepared to smash every news related with xb within seconds, wether they are good or bad is insignificant.

Agreed, I can't help but think if Sony was making the Scorpio and MS was making the Neo, the reaction would be completely "haha, Sony's awesome, one-upping MS again, enjoy your crappy upgrade XBox fans, wait for Sony Scorpio it's going to be a BEAST!".

Type thing.

That would 100% be the case,

But for the sake of honesty its because Microsoft  is putting all their games on PC. So the idea of Scorpio is that you can now play your favourite xbox games in 4k... well you can do that already, right now and not 18 months from now. That's mainly the point people are making.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

The problem with community sites is that you have one side defending one set of ideals, another set defending the other, and those that are gamers who make valid comments are then shot down as "Just haters".

For example, at the moment the XBOS is real, it looks cool and has finally an internal power supply. To me this is a massive step forward for the XB hardware designers, they are finally understanding what a good package should be about (now they just need to allow replacement of the hard disk) and no bloody batteries in controllers).

So they should be applauded for the XBOS, but the Scorpio right now is just an imaginary console that they cant even give you anything of substance about, just like those original Kinect launch lies, the Cloud, the XBO being more balanced than the PS4, and users and their secret sauce. People are already saying how NEO is shit, how Sony has failed... all this stupid willy waving.

To be fair the Scorpio is currently an easy target for people being sensible and saying, hold on right now, you know nothing about this console, its real power, what it looks like, how the games will run and its price, but already people are saying its the best thing since sliced bread.

Personally I think its a mistake that MS have done this, and their messaging right now suggest its a console that still very much early in dev. I suspect they did it because of the impending launch of the Neo, which if it came out within the next 4 months would be a massive blow to MS. So I understand why they might have done it, just why people would be applauding either of these new consoles yet when we know nothing about how it will affect our current libraries, is just pretty silly.

I don't think so. The poing of some people here is than Microsoft won't be capable of doing a console that can do native 4k, that if they can that don't matter because 4k doesn't matter, and if 4k matters then right now is already possible, and there's no reason to buy a Scorpio. The point is Microsoft is doing wrong, and doing wrong, and if they're not doing wrong for one reason, they're doing wrong for another.

We don't know exactly when, nor exactly the definitive specs, nor at what price. Maybe Scorpio would be a very affordable way to play in 4k, more affordable than a PC with the same performance. The thing is Neo (a future machine that we also don't know when, what specs, and at what price, and that is about the same concept than Scorpio) received much less criticism here.

That is maybe only because there's much more fans of one system here (that can explain also the doom & gloom with NX) but also can be that what MS hinted at E3 is already a very attractive product, and the console wars machine is working again. The same with the NX, fear of one or both (Ninty and MS) coming back to heavily competing is powerful.

I think that if MS would have hinted some more conservative, or more Neoish like, there would have been less hate.
