About MP3 controls:

They felt too lose. Even using the "pro" control setup (I forgot what it's called, the one that's more sensitive) I felt like basic maneuvering was an exercise in patience. Especially with the high speed of the space pirates.

Sorry its just that I play a lot of FPS as well with dual analog. And on its most sensitive setting I have never played a FPS that lets you whip about at the speed the wiimote does in MP3 on a dual analog. So to see you say the sentive setting is to slow, then say it would have been so much better on DA, Im like what? So slower manuverability would make handling the super fast enemies easier to manage?

Um, when did I say the controls were slow. Loose != slow. Oh, and I see I misspelled loose in my original post.

They can't be loose though... it works off IR. The only way they could be lose would be if you sucked with it and were wildly flailing around too much overreacting to seeing an enemy or being hit or something.

It's based off IR?  It's based off infrared?!?!?  YES, now I see, the Wiimote is an infallible piece of technology with no equal.  My eyes have been opened by your wisdom.

I'll expain.  The mouse is by far, the best device for aiming.  It's fast and precise.  It translates into absolute movement.  You move the mouse 1 inch to the right and it tells the game to move your view 10 degrees to the right.

A gamepad uses relative movement.  You move the right stick 20 degrees to the right, and it tells the game to move 10 degrees to the right every second.

Do you see the difference in the way the input is processed?  Do you see why the mouse is the superior aiming device?

The Wii also uses relative movement.  You point 100 pixels to the right of the center, and it tells the game to move 10 degrees to the right every second.  Now this is where the lag of the pointer comes in.  Let's say you suddenly want to move to the left.  You point to the left, the Wii processes it over a fifth of a second (just an estimate of the lag based on my experiences) and then you start moving left.  You point to the left, and 1/5 a second LATER you start moving left.  That's a huge amount of time for someone used to precise controls.  I just couldn't get used to it.  I got to Bryo, explored a little, turned the game off, and never bothered going back.  The controls are loose, they don't respond instantly, and it ruined my enjoyment of the game.  I thought the graphics were excellent BTW.  I'm not trying to bash the Wii, I'm just giving my opinions.

If you found lag in MP3, you may be getting interference. Is it near a window facing the sun, near a computer or microwave or anything else that can emit potential interference?

There is no motion lag in MP3 unless something else is causing it.

Unless you are talking about the time between free look aiming and when the camera moves. That delay is simply your own movement from a center point of the screen outward until it reaches the bounding box for camera movement.

There was no lag for me in MP3, it was hands-down the best first-person console experience I've ever had, much easier to aim and faster to turn to boot (though I hear MoHH2 is better).

Yeah... there is no lag in MP3. You must of had your system set up wrong or was just overreacting to nothing. Aside from hand fatigue it works just like a mouse.

After reading a few discussions on Wii games that use IR for pointing, there was usually some interference (or the sensitivity of the wiimote was set wrong in the Wii's control system menu).

Btw, as a happy HARDCORE PS1/PS2 owner, I have little to look forward to with the PS3, so why should I bother spending money on something that will offer me little in the games I play?

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

To me the wii is badly overrated even though I do enjoy it. (kind of like ps2 was last generation) Since I'm a PC gamers I'm just not too excited about using the wii mote as a mouse substitute for games like MP3. I do like wii motion sensor when it comes to family games like Wii sport. If I play a FPS for the best controls that PC mouse wins hands down yet if I want to play on a big screen with DD5.1 sound then I go ps3/360.

Well this thread took a predictable turn. As for the wii and laggy controls, yes the wiimote does lag, i've played 8 different wii's on 8 different t.v.'s round various friends houses and the wiimote is like using a wireless mouse compared to a wired one. It's not a massive difference and most people won't know any different but to players who want the most accurate controls from a game console the wiimote is not the answer.

I'm sorry but the actual lag (which is a combination of processing and signal transmission) is practically beyond human perception. Far less than what would actually affect gameplay.

You may also be experiencing a lag from the SD signal on an HDTV. This is a known issue not limited to the Wii but various SD signals through certain cables onto HD displays.

A properly set up Wii would display absolutely no perceptible lag at all.

360 and PS3 are shooting for hd gaming and viewing 360 tv show's ect. and movies! eventually PS3 will offer downloadable tv shows and movies! pS3 DOES DVD' AND BLURAY AS A TRUE multimedia system! the wii has old school gaming cute Mii's and fun channels but the gaming experience is different!

a mario hop game and the best shooter really doenst offer a feeling of realism! some here have said ty nintendo for giving me games to relive my youth! Why??? because the games help you remeber your youth and nintendo isnt going to mess with success and change what they do best! If you pop in COD4 on a 360 or PS3 with 5.1 dolby digital in HD on a 50 in tv Iam sorry but there's not another experience like it on the Wii!

Just like the motion controls of the wii are totally unique and offer a totally different experience!

I have all three cause Iam a game freak! and I ask people what do you want to play when they ask me what they should get people with young kids who want safe gaming experience and a fun family experience the wii I have about 5-6 families who went out and bought Wii's and got the extra controller with Wii Play and than extra nunchuk! you can have loads of fun with sorts and play alone!

other then that the other 2 systems have unique games halo3 mgS4 and depending where you want to game they are both great fun!

I do have Halo 3 parties with 8 controllers and 2 360's so I might lean that way! but Ps3 is gonna be hard not to own with MGS4 And FF13!

you know I need to go rob a bank to pay for my gaming habit!

still people like choice thats why your favorite system might not be thiers! regardless of it selling the most units and having your favorite game!

I applaud your excessive use of the exclamation point! lol, sorry, just teasing

Just out of curiosity, are you saying that they are all in the same market, or not?

sorry I exclaim a lot and I believe they are apples and oranges both fruit but really different!!!!!!!!! LOL
