Hahahahaha what? Nintendos launch month is higher than PS4's 6th month whilst both have been supply constrained? Are you really THAT dishonest? |
What, exactly, are you accusing me of being dishonest about? You do realize that the Switch is still supply constrained in the US as well, right? I literally just posted the data and made a statement that the Switch is ahead when you look at the first year.
Let's look at the rest of the year:
PS4 NPD 2014 | Monthly | Cumulative | XOne NPD 2014 | Monthly | Cumulative | Switch NPD 2017 | Monthly | Cumulative |
Jan | 271 | 271 | Jan | 141 | 141 | Jan
Feb | 285 | 556 | Feb | 258 | 399 | Feb
Mar | 371 | 927 | Mar | 311 | 710 | Mar | 910 | 910 |
Apr | 199 | 1126 | Apr | 115 | 825 | Apr | 281 | 1191 |
May | 197 | 1323 | May | 77 | 902 | May | 165 | 1356 |
Jun | 269 | 1592 | Jun | 197 | 1099 | Jun | 216 | 1572 |
Jul | 187 | 1779 | Jul | 131 | 1230 | Jul
Aug | 190 | 1969 | Aug | 160 | 1390 | Aug
Sep | 538 | 2507 | Sep | 284 | 1674 | Sep
Oct | 297 | 2804 | Oct | 168 | 1842 | Oct
Nov | 831 | 3635 | Nov | 1231 | 3073 | Nov
Dec | 1065 | 4700 | Dec | 1297 | 4370 | Dec |
The only "dishonesty" is that I initially misread the March 2014 NPD thread.
Not that it matters, because the Switch will be ahead of the PS4's first year after the July NPD. I guess you don't keep up to date with the Japanese weekly sales threads? Because Nintendo shipped about twice the amount of consoles there in July that they did in June, likely indicating a shipment increase worldwide. But even if they don't increase shipments to the United States at all, the Switch can just sell 216k, like in June, and be ahead.
I guess you didn't see the reason I brought it up. I'm not saying that the Switch will be ahead for the whole year. The point is that the Switch is currently selling at the same pace as another very successful console in the United States (and is half a million ahead of another successful console,) so it's ridiculous to claim that the Switch only sells well in Japan or that its sales have petered out.
