So, if the Number is shipped why don't change the Title of this thread ?.

It's not confirmed that is shipped, Frank O'Connor only said SOLD.

The saltiness is real.

Even when it comes from the horse's mouth. Its not impossible the game has also done well digitally as well, with recent trends out there that put your avg game's digital sales at 15-20% of the total sales. And Halo is not your avg property release- day one digital must have been huge.

Anyhow a 25% attach rate is no Mario, but it is quite impressive for a flagship exclusive. Sony can't claim that with any of their properties, that's for sure....which is why the saltiness is rich.

Bit more difficult when you have double the consoles sold

So Halo 5 is probably around 7million by now. Dang.

Should be at least 12mil by now.

No, games sales usually do slow down after a while.

Halo is my favorite fps this generation. When Halo 6 comes out will hit probably 7 - 8 million in it's first three months.

Not too shabby. Recently got the limited edition (which included that god forsaken Metal Earth figurine. F that crap...) on sale, so I now have all five Halo games for my Xbone. I'm all set up for a Halo marathon once I go on vacation.

Thread title is inaccurate. It's been nearly 7 months since the launch, not 3!

The real question is - did it outsell Splatoon yet?

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Bullshit, they can only ship what retailers order. That argument might hold for the first month or so when retailers over estimate demand but they certainly won't continue that way for months post release.

Right that's why Uncharted 3 was oversihpped by something like 3:1 first week, or Mario Maker was overshipped by almost 2:1 first month, lol.

But you know what, i'm bored right now, trusth me or not i don't care, is a fact MS 90% of times overship, and those above were just some example of how a game can be overshipped.

This, and if you overship 3:1 or even 2:1 ratios chances are that it will take a couple of months to sell all of that, even with good legs, also Halo 5 released in the holiday season so chances are it was very much overshipped in November/December.

Let's put it this way: after holiday season 1 mil overshipped is huge because the sales crash very hard in the first quarter so if a game sells apporox. 25,000 a week it would take 40 weeks to sell 1 mil, approx. 50,000 a week would take 20 weeks. How many games sell consistently in the 40,000 - 50,000 per week in retail, I count two: COD:BO3 and GTA V.

And how much is 20 weeks? over 4,5 months

So has Halo 5 sold 5 mil? I have no idea.

Funny seeing some people saying those are very great numbers when months back they were basically expecting the double of it, and made several threads to say the numbers we had were a lot lower than reality... how quick are we to forget. Don't remember anyone of those guys saying 5M would be a success (and that is shipped, with no clear way to define the total sales number).

Oh come one. Did anyone expect it to sell 10m already? That's just crazy. Any links to posts that such claims were made?

That's pretty good. Still bad compared to past Halo games but better than what I thought it sold.

Great results, if its shipped digital sale aren't included

Lol, based on what? Since when did publishers stop including digital in their shiped numbers?

Since forever?

How can you ship something that isn't physical wtf. Digital is in the store like an infinite number, there isn't a
predetermined number of copies.

Shipped means sold for publishers (they've sold it, whether the retailers have yet or not doesn't really change that) and thus digital is always included with shipped figures.

I am pretty sure most publishers don't work like that... and we don't know if this is actual sales or shipped...
