Kinda late to the party, but its great that we have numbers!Thank you very much Aqua!

And I do hope you start feeling confortable sharing the numbers and interacting with the users and forums here.Im not really one to say how forums should work or how they are in general, because this one is my first and only(at least for now) one that I take part in, but ever since I got in, the community has been very kind and engaging. They dont usually jump to conclusions and always try to argument their way about the topic, and even if they dont agree on something, it almost never ends on a fight. So I really hope you feel confortable here, and I hope that I and the rest of the users here see you in the forums more often!

To the topic at hand, DOOM has sold very well.Much better than I expected. And uncharted did very much as I expected, especially since we already had numbers sold worldwide for the first week.A bit sad about battleborne, since its probably going downhill from now, but its simply hard to compete against a blizzard game.

I poured my heart and soul into NeoGAF for three years of my life....just to get dumped unceremoniously like a piece of worthless trash.

And even when I got my friend and contact from The NPD Group to help them out because for whatever reason I'm no longer welcome at NeoGAF (I set up an account for him)....they just call him "an alt" and ban him after three months like he's a complete nobody.

It's not that there's anything wrong with this community....it's just a matter of me getting depressed and reticent about communities and forums after how I've been treated over there.

That site seems to be run by a bunch of asshats or something. I signed up for that site a couple weeks ago and I'm still waiting on approval. They're acting like I need top secret clearance just to converse with people there. *rolls eyes

Wouldn't it be fair to assume that Overwatch's console digital ratio would also be over the average? Considering it sold more on PSN than Doom, despite Doom selling more physically (well, I think. we don't have precise splits so technically PS4 Overwatch could be above PS4 Doom, unless you can say anything about this).

I believe OverWatch on console should be way bigger than 25%. All times Sony and Microsoft promuoved this game digitally.

Console audiences are very different than PC audiences...many still highly value physical copies.

Overwatch is a distinctly PC-oriented game that caters heavily to everything PC , so I don't think there is an abnormally high digital percentage here.

But I did miscalculate...what I meant to say was that I believe 25% of the *combined* demand was digital (or 120K was digital), which would give Overwatch a 33% digital share relative to physical sales. 33% is what I meant to convey in the beginning.

Overwatch would be 33% digital (or 120K digital) and Doom would be a lower percentage than normal (and with it being more of an Xbox-oriented title), therefore when you do the math Overwatch PS4 digital would sell more. I might give SKU splits later on.

But that's my opinion mixed with a few things I heard from people I know. It's not necessarily the correct one.

while that is true, many still underestimate the huge growth for console dd fullgame downloads
madden 16, a console only game, has a 50% dd attachrate according to ea

but we should also note, that madden sells most of its copys in the us and the dd attachrates in good old america are way higher than europe or the rest of the world.

33% is a good estimate.
halo 5 had 30% at launch

Somebody correct Javin98 on NeoGAF.

NDP Mulcair / NPD George didn't "use my computer" on NeoGAF.

I set up an account for him and gave him the login details. I didn't use the account regularly----he did. He's not very good with forums or social media or any of that shit.

But apparently to the fucking mods that doesn't matter because the account "used the same IP" therefore "he's an alt" even though his posting style and mannerisms and data and literally everything about him was completely antithetical to how I post and act.......and again I still don't know why I can't come back to that site.

Thank god he was understanding (shocked, but understanding) and I could come to a deal with him to help you guys out. But he was completely done with forums after that nonsense.

The moderation system at GAF is frankly disgusting and very shady. Great community over there but the mod team seems determined to try it's damnedest to tear the community apart, is petty and immature when it comes to handling moderation, and if the moderation team doesn't like you then at the next smallest slip-up you're out.

However, the community is great and appreciate your work, both here and on GAF, but it seems at GAF that the line of communication hasn't been open, and most of them simply don't know what happened. Many of them only know of VGC from their inaccurate sales approximations and not from the sales forums here that have many great and insightful members (many of them from GAF as well). Many don't know about the situation regarding your ban, and get their information regurgitated from mods or posters on GAF, and many are afraid to speak out with the truth due to the draconian moderation system.

What happened with the mods at GAF was shitty and disgusting (as well as what they did with ZhugeEx) but the community hasn't changed and we still really appreciate your numbers as well as your personal musings. These discussions really would be stunted significantly without your input here, and you pull no punches either; no broad approximations or vague riddles, you just tell the info you can straight up.

I know it's a lot of work, but we do really appreciate it, and I hope you and your NPD contact continue to share with us. :)

Good ps4 month !
We got every console's numbers but not the Vita's, why ? is it below ps3's 10k ?

Yeah, the internet can be a hard place sometimes.I have the impression that Neogaf thinks it is the prodigy son.Since it has many leakers and developers, and sometimes are even quoted by important sites, such as IGN, they feel like they are the most important persons on the gaming industry, and that can lead to many arrogant actions.

But I do hope that you eventually get over this unfortunate episode.Trust is something thats hard to build, but easy to destroy.Just see it as starting anew here.Thats what I would do at least. And hey, you cant go worst than Spurge telling his real life adventures here.So I guess you will do good.Plus you are feeding us with the preeeeeciousssssss and delicious numbers.Mods will need to go through me before they lay a finger on you!!!!!!

Now that I have estabilished myself as such a nice guy, would you know lifetime sales for XCX on US?Still new to all this(even though im here for one year XD), but Im always curious to know how that game is doing. If you dont have acess to that information, its more than fine!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

So Uncharted 4 had the largest ad campaign in PlayStation history, and yet performed under TLoU and Halo 5 and just barely performed above UC3 including bundles.

Interesting...

It will outsell The Last of Us, don't you worry. Uncharted averages 9M per console game.

1) The avg. is 7M

2) TLOU is well over 10 million LT PS3+PS4 (Well over mean "WELL" over that, like it could be even 12m for what we know)

It's not gonna be that easy for Uncharted 4 outsell TLOU...

Don't hate me guys but is Aquamarine the person who is responsible to the NPD numbers we have?

Yes, every precise number comes from me.

CosmicQueso shared some general ranges for hardware and Uncharted which I gave precise numbers for.

Creamsugar and John Harker are both MIA and they have been for the past two months.

Just registered today to say thanks to Aquamarine.

I recall 10m as well, but could only find articles about 7m back in 2014 (before remaster), and 1.5m for remaster in a few months. Do you have link?

And yes, TLoU is a big seller, incredible legs on that game, although legs are to be expected for a new IP with strong WoM, expect TLoU2 to be more frontloaded.
