Also, Uncharted 4 is a great game but I'm not sure what else contributes to 'the best lineup ever'?

Ratchet was great, MLB had another good year, The Witness, No Man's Sky, and FFXV are closely associated with PS, and we currently still have The Tomorrow Children, The Last Guardian, GT Sport, Nier Automata, Gravity Rush 2, and a heap of PSVR games to look forward to (RIGS in particular). Might not end up getting all of those this year, of course. =/

As Alienation, Valkyria Chronicles and Dragon Quest Builders.

People also forget how awesome last year was with Bloodborne, Until Dawn, GOW3R, Helldivers, Hotline Miami 2, Guilty Gear Xrd, Gravity Rush, Tearaway and the Tales Games.

Not likely. With the new direction of the console/Home Computer indursty, I think PlayStation 4 has many much bigger years ahead for games and sales.

I think we will see some amazing years, that have a mixture of traditional and VR experiences. The first year COD goes VR, the next GTA in VR, The Last Of Us 2, these will be huge, and the combonatiion of the traditional and VR gaming will be bigger than anything we have seen before it.

My view is, that the personal experience conveyed by VR is going to push PS4 sales to iPhone like levels, and even more so, big games will be selling in the 100's of millions.

I am honestly getting tired of empty promises. We've been told 'greatness awaits' for too long now and I am honestly bored of 'waiting'. It seems every game that get's announced, they have absolutely no intention of sticking to the initial release date and it almost always comes out 1-2 years after they said it would.

Don't get me wrong, when the games come out they are fairly good (Driveclub for example), but other companies are releasing games that are just as good if not better and sticking to their initial launch dates. It's hard to get excited for any lineup when every year the content just keeps getting pushed back and we're told it's so they can 'improve the game'. No, it's because poor management who a. have no intention of sticking to the launch date or b. have no understanding of how long it takes to create a video game.

I will look forward to 2017 like I have to every other year - hope for the best, expect the worst (more stuff will get delayed).

Also, Uncharted 4 is a great game but I'm not sure what else contributes to 'the best lineup ever'?

Yeah? Which ones?

Well just a 2 minute check for some popular games and googling to see if they were delayed, the following:

3rd Party: Doom, Just Cause 3, Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Fallout 4, Gran Theft Auto 5. - Some big games that were successfull with no delays (as far as I can see).

And when you compare to MS, most of their games ended up launching when intended:

X1: Titanfall, Rise Son of Rome, Ori and the Blind Forest, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Motorsport 6, Forza Horizon 2, Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider.

When I compare this to PS4 exclusives, (timed or otherwise) it just seems to be endless delays. Don't get me wrong, I think Uncharted 4 and Driveclub are great games, but the amount of delays they had was laughable.

Lol the games you listed are mostly sequels with barely any changes made to them, so yes, of course those games aren't going to get delayed.

Pretty much knew you were going to list a bunch of sequels.

Are you serious? Sunset Overdrive - New IP. Rise Son of Rome - New IP. Ori and the Blind Forest - New IP. Titanfall - New IP. Also, who cares if they are 'sequals' - GTA5 is a massive change over GTA4. Forza Horizon 2 is nothing like Forza Horizon 1. Arguably, Uncharted 4 is nothing new on Uncharted 3? The reason UC4 got delayed wasn't because it introduced anything 'new' but because the game was very large and ambitious (like GTA5 and others - no delays).

Yeah, Sunset was a good game and it released on time.

Ryse? I thought you said good games, not bad games.

Ori? That was a 2014 game that was delayed to early 2015 so.....

Titanfall, multiplayer only game, and obviously if they weren't on a time limit given by EA, it would have had a "real" single player campaign.

Good for GTA V, it was a good game and it released on time.

FH2 isn't differnet from the first? Really? In what way? I've looked at both games and they're pretty much similar.

Of the few games you listed, only Sunset and GTA V actually meet your criteria. Of all the games that have released in the past 3 years, two, maybe a few more? That doesn't say anything for your case.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with Uncharted. How was it going from linear maps to pretty big maps not a huge differnet. It's actually very different from the way first 3 because it's more lke The Last of Us.

Delays are normal this generation and people have to get use to it especially with technology being so complicated, it takes time to make ambitious/different games. I mean just like Scalebound, Recore, and Crackdown got delayed. And just like how Nintendos only "ambitious/different" games Xenoblade and Zelda were delayed.
