Well Yeah:

The markets didn't expected this outcome, it is waiting what the next months will give. It is still early.

When Swedens or the Danish see this they won't vote to leave, and the collapse of the EU won't happen?

lol the Danes and Swedes would not cause WW markets to fall. London is arguably the financial capital of the world (I believe NYC holds this title) that is why people around the world care.

What does Britain from a functional standpoint even gain from this?

Like they weren't using the Euro so they don't really gain from that. Even the whole "controlling immigration" thing from what I understand the UK was already doing that by basically not taking any refugees, so they clearly had some control there already.

Well you can make it broader I think it is not helping Europe in general and I bet that some countries who are not fan of europe are enjoying this.

It are the markets, they start ofcourse with a hyperbole reaction that's also why I call it still early and we have to wait for the next months:

#BREAKING Brexit: Spain proposes 'shared sovereignty' over Gibraltar

well Spain claims the territory and probably see an opportunity to do something. However Gibraltar has vote like 3 times in the past to overwelmingly stay with UK. Spain's economy is in the dumps. Maybe if this causes the UK to become like Spain they may go with it. But I doubt they would right away.

Well when in 1986 Spain wanted to join the EU, it was EU that forced them to open the borders with Gibraltar if they wanted to join the EU. With UK leaving Spain has the right the close the borders with Gibraltar (ofcourse the reason why 95% voted remain in Gibraltar).

Well, that's not what I expected. I don't think this is right choice for our nation.

Hmm, pie.

Left right is for approach to things, not ideology. You can have a leftist capitalist (an ordoliberalist) or a right wing socialist (a Nazi)...

The right-left paradigm is rooted in the early 19th century French assembly, a dispute between absolutists and democratic republicans (the latter including liberals/capitalists and socialists alike), in that post-enlightenment landscape. Anything outside of that context, is just pushing a square peg into a round hole and hoping it explains things well.

Must be the reason I gave up on trying to place myself on the left or right (and explains why Trump and Sanders are my guys)!

the ability to do whatever the fuck they want.

I live in the US. I cant even fathom the concept of some unelected foriegn body making decisions for my country. It would be hypocritical for me to expect another country to do the same unless they choose to.

Why did all those countries who fought for independence gained from doing that?

ha, Spain jumping in already. I wonder if the Republic of Ireland will make an offer to Northern Ireland soon...

Hmmm I don't know if this is good or a bad thing or was expected etc..

Sinn Fein calls for referendum on united Ireland

Sinn Fein has called for a referendum on a united Ireland after accusing English voters of "dragging Northern Ireland out of the EU".

If I were NI, I'd take it, get back into the EU without any hassle.
