Forums - Gaming - Round 2: Fav console not made by the Big 3... or Sega

Hm, I remember that I once had a Star Wars themed machine that only played, well, a Star Wars game. The bastard needed batteries to function and only costed me like 30 dollars.

Pretty sure that SEGA did a similar treatment for some Genesis games, including Sonic H1, Altered Beast and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (pretty cool game, btw).

They did indeed have these

Also considering they were made by ATGAMES they qualify under the OPs "not made by the big 3 or sega" so it would be a good choice! Much like my "Definitely not a gamecube" up above.

Edit

was

the Star Wars console you were talking about? Looks absolutely awful to hold lol a real hand tearer.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I don't think I've ever used a console outside of the established ones, not if we don't count emulation. My grandfather did buy a Phillips CD-i, but only to play movies before DVDs were a thing, he still has a ton of those CD-i Movie collection, and I never realized the thing was a videogame console until the internet came along. And by then, the only thing left of the device was the remote controller (still have it, not sure if it works anymore).

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Philips G7000.

I actually already mentioned it in the other thread where I answered "Dreamcast". My nostalgic feelings probably add a great deal, and later I found a lot of it's games are actually blatant clones of more famous Atari 2600 counterparts, but it had some original games as well. I had a lot of fun with it as a child. One game in particular. Now I have an Atari 2600 as well, and I got to say, the G7000's controllers are way better!

I liked a lot the Philps CDI. I remember two games that were awesome for me : Inca and a tennis game. Only system i owned which was not created by the 4.

Since Atari 2600 had one of the best games ever in H.E.R.O, I will go with it. It also had good controllers and worked with the mega drive controllers as well :).

Micro center built my Powerspec PC that destroys much on the steam library. I'll go with that. Or my PC from the 90's that ran windows 98 and I could play this amazing golf game with the best graphicz everz for the 90z.

haha try to guess

Turbografx 16 but I can only afford a few of the games. My fave out of my consoles isn't really a console. Well it kinda is because it uses carts too. Texas Instruments ti 99 4-a I have over 30 games for it with the speech synthesizer add on. Colecovision would replace it if the ti computer doesn't count.

If we exclude systems from Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and Sega, what's your favourite console made by other companies?

commodore 64

Edit:  I also loved the vic20

All right, now it's on!

I'll go with Atari 2600. It had a lot of clunkers, no doubt, but also some classics: Pitfall, Adventure, Combat, Yars' Revenge, and my personal favorite River Raid.

Wasn't Joust released on the 2600?  I loved me some Joust.

Why can't that get a remake?  MP only 12 on 12 riding on the back of giant flying birds with nothing but jousting sticks to knock your opponent off to their demise.
