Personally E3 is still relevant for me. I always get hyped. It's like All Star Game and World Series.

God bless You.

They had more games last year, so what? They are still there with just as big of a booth. This time it will be a huge Zelda themed one. Instead of just white. They will have showings of the game. Both staged and by the Treehouse. It might just be for one game, but what other game has ever gotten THAT much attention at E3?

They had vastly more games every single year of E3 since it started. That's "so what." They aren't having any conference or Digital Event. That's "so what." They have games to talk about that they are deliberately choosing not to talk about at E3 when they have no other reason to not talk about them there. That's "so what." They announced plans for a separate event at a separate place on a separate date where they would announce new hardware and software the same day they announced all of this E3 news. That's "so what."

Nintendo is effectively saying "so what?" to E3, and they are not alone. That's "so what."

The Nintendo bias stuff needs to stop because Nintendo used to be a heavy hitter at E3. The Wii reveal and Zelda TP just to name a couple. Things have changed and Nintendo has purposefully whisked themselves away from E3 for some reason or another. Maybe a Space World type thing is better for them. But still, by no means is E3 irrelevant. However, you can't ignore that huge companies will be absent in some form or another at this year's E3. Sony and MS will still be there so it's gonna be huge as long as they're there and have most of the market share.

It's still relevant, but I don't think it's as big as it used to be. I believe EA and Activision are not going to be there this year.

Doesnt mean they think E3 isnt just as relevant. Its just you reading too much into what Nintendo is doing one year out of the 20+ years they have been doing it... There was one year with no conferences at all. Yet E3 bounced back because gamers wanted it. Its not going anywhere. Nintendo has not once said E3 is not relevant to them. They even called it christmas time for gamers one year.

Even in a FAR more recent year, their 2014 E3 was AMAZING and close to exactly how E3 should evolve. They had the Smash tournament, they had a great Digital Event, with a great Treehouse (they really need to STOP trying to talk over the game though and let people experience the music, and voice acting). Their promotion with the Fils-a-mech was funny, There working with Robot Chicken creators was a good move and was interesting. If they had their demos for Xeno X, and all other playable demos available to the World through the Wii U Eshop I'd say it was perfect.

Nobody ever said E3 is not relevant. You yourself say it's still relevant.

Why is this thread?

VGChartz shall never deny a thread, even at the most ridiculous request. :)

as a playstation fan i still find it very relevant.

not sure i'd care about E3 so much if i was a nintendo fan. it's still probably more-or-less relevant to microsoft fans too. i watch the ms conference just for the multiplates so i'll assume xbox fans to the same with sony.

..but a lot of the publishers seem to be pulling out. it kind of makes sense though because the big audiences are watching the platform holder's conferences. as a third party i think you'd want to get on the msony conference or just don't bother.

Yes of course, it's the biggest game show of the year so if it were irrelevant then by the extension the other game shows would be as well. Increased competition from other shows like Gamescom and TGS, is good for the industry because it shows that there is a growing interest for gaming around the world.

You should read the internet to understand.

Stop reading Nintendo threads!

Was gonna say the same thing lol.... only nintendo fans would for a second consider that E3 is no longer relevant.

To OP; E3 is the single biggest media event for video games. Period. if you want to know how relevant it is, try and compkile how many game related announcements are made in that one week of E3, and how many views all the associated media has including website hits.

Yes, its pretty really really important.
