Was gonna say the same thing lol.... only nintendo fans would for a second consider that E3 is no longer relevant.
To OP; E3 is the single biggest media event for video games. Period. if you want to know how relevant it is, try and compkile how many game related announcements are made in that one week of E3, and how many views all the associated media has including website hits.
Yes, its pretty really really important.
