Master System 2

It's a tough call for me, but I'm gonna go with the Atari 2600.

There's something really pure and elegant about its simplistic graphics and gameplay. I guess it's harder to fuck up simplicity. With the hardware's limitations precluding elaborate storytelling and graphics, the focus is solely on gameplay. Playing the best 2600 games can be an almost zen-like experience.

I actually kind of loved my Saturn. Me and my brother imported a lot of games that for some ungodly reason never made it to the states, and it made the thing pretty great for a while. Games like Guardian Heroes, Grandia, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Radiant Silvergun, Silhouette Mirage, Dragon Force and most of all, arcade-perfect ports of Capcom games like X-men vs Street Fighter, Cyberbots, Red Earth, and Dungeons and Dragons made the thing amazing. Only a handful of those games received ports for PSX, and many have barely (or never) seen any sort of re-release on other consoles, which is really too bad.

Toss up between the Genesis and TG-16

it would be the megadrive. Even if you add in the big three the megadrive is still my top pick
