Lolwut, Emo is the opposite of Lit :v

You believe showing me what I've obviously seen already is going to change my mind?

Maybe you'll realize it's Litness taking a more accurate look (?)

Come on it'll evolve in a damn Tiger, If you plan on picking the Dolphin Pokémon then you'll need Litten to take care of the grass types, not Popplio increasing your weakness

Ugh those poll results, should be a rule where you have to take off your nostalgia blinders before voting. I mean sure Gen 5 starters aren't the greatest, but they're still better than Gen 2's bland looking monotypes.

monotypes>two monotypes+ third Fire/Fighting in a row

And I say that as a Gen 3 fan that thinks that Gen 4 and 6 got some of the best starters in the series (of course after my favourite gen) and that is a Cyndaquil/Chikorita hater...

So... that's a yes then. Well, uh, yeah, NOPE!!!

Like I said, things could change depending on their evolutions. I'd go Rowlet in that case.

Around the Network

Out of just the first evos
Gen 1
Most favorite - Squirtle
Least favorite - Charmander

Gen 2
Most favorite - Totodile
Least favorite - Chickorita

Gen 3 (this one is incredibly hard since I love them all)
Most favorite - Torchic
Least favorite - Treeko? But not by much at all. I love all these starters.

Gen 4
Most favorite - Piplup
Least favorite - Chimchar

Gen 5 (also a hard gen for me as I love all these guys too)
Most favorite - Snivey
Least favorite - Tepig

Gen 6
Most favorite - Froakie
Least favorite - Chespin

You should do this for the first and second evolutions too!

Less monotypes is still better, and to be more specific it's an extremely well designed Emperor/Empress monotype + Samurai monotype + Sumo Wrestler dualtype vs. 3 generic bland monotypes. Gen 5 starters are simply more interesting since they go beyond just being based on animal.

Agreed.

Although even knowing the gen 5 pokes aren't particularly liked I didn't expect it to lose that heavily

LOLOLOL no. Being monotype makes them bland? Nah. Gen 2 to me had some of the coolest starters around, they weren't as good as gen 1 but they were all likable. Then again you're agreeing with someone who likes piplup. That alone says enough.

To be honest I already was kind of inlcuding them, as I think most people have. They are after all a big part of why people like the starters that they like.

Oh wel, change it up and do those them anyways lol I'd love to see the differences, as I bet gen 3 with freaking Marshtomp and Cumbusken would not be "winning" as much as they are in the poll.

What I see is an extremely unoriginal grass starter line (there is near to 0 change from Snivy to Serperior, a Piplup copy that becomes a disgreaceful sea lion with a mustache and an overweight boar...

Accusing Gen 2 for beeing basic is like accusing Gen 3 of beeing "edgy", the whole game is based on Japanese traditions and most of traditions tie to simple things, maybe this is a subtle concept but personally coming from a country heavily-tied to it's traditions I can't use this as an excuse to accuse the gen 2 starters, when semplicity is the basis of gen 2.
