imma say slimebeast is right here in being exteremly skeptical. just look at the millions of guys with female avatars in online games. a bunch of these guys even pretend to be real girls coz they can and no one can say that they are lying coz  you know...inernetz.

Looking through a bit of Emily Roger's past stuff, I don't see much reason to believe her. This seems to be a case where the things she claimed that were right got a lot of attention in hindsight, but the wrong predictions were just forgotten. Mediocre track record.

Rumors are part of the fun of the new consoles, but I'm getting burnt out.

If Nintendo is smart, they'll reveal when they plan to reveal the NX at E3. It will give them a little bit of buzz, and address the elephant in the room so we can focus on what they are showing. Then we can be done with most of this stuff.

C3LL was extra-special custom designed chip, which was great and all, but it actually hurt PS3 in the early years. I hope Nintendo isn't being different for the sake of being different. At least if they go with ARM it's established and widely used and hence familiar for developers and cost effective for Nintendo.

For those who are not into tech: Can we compare console tech with muscles? Of all sportsmen, bodybuilders have the biggest muscles but they are completely not functional, they are just there to show off, to present. A bodybuilder would loose against an weightlifter in a weightlifting contest, he would loose against an arm-wrestler in arm-wrestling, he would loose against a wrestler in a wrestling match, he would loose against any type of runner in any running contest, he would loose against a long jumper in a long jumping contest, he would loose against a high jumper in a high jumping contest, he would loose against any professional strongest-man athlete in any kind of strongest-man discipline, etc. All those other sportsmen have well trained muscles but all of them have smaller muscles than a bodybuilder. The difference is, they are functional, every gram of muscle mass is there because it is needed and every inch of muscles mass which is there and has no function will be toned down until it reaches 100% efficiency for the specific sport.

What I want to say with this? "The NX is using industry leading tech!" Remember that? Industry leading means more efficient! Think of it like Nintendo has developed a new sport.

It's extremely likely that NX is using AMD tech. Suggesting otherwise is wasting brain power.

It's possible but I'm not sure if it's a lock I think we all just assumed. Early on I was skeptical because if you're going to have unified platform, you probably need to some kind of uniformity to your chipsets, ie: it's more likely that Nintendo would use tablet components for both their console and portable, because it's very hard/impossible to shrink non-tablet GPUs/CPUs down into a portable.

So Nvidia would be a reasonable choice, they've been making the Tegra line for a while, whereas AMD hasn't done much work for tablets/phones at all.

Also apparently Nvidia was working with Nintendo on the 3DS until something late in the game went side ways.

The head of Nintendo's Technology Development division and hardware architecture also used to work at Nvidia.

I'm not sure who to believe at this point though.

There's also murmurs that Nvidia has been frustrated in not being able to find customers for their Tegra line of chips, perhaps they caved and offered Nintendo a deal too sweet to pass up in order to justify the investment they've put into the product line. There's like 10 people that bought that Shield console.
