GT5:P is already a success in japan alone....

Considering that was work they already did and wouldn't have gotten paid for if the waited till the full game was finished.
Seriously they really aren't trying to make a profit with prolouge that means 0% chance of bombing.
NJ5 - That link is iffy. Everyone likes to go with "companies go with shipped sales" so.... that could possibly mean VGC has undertracked by a huge amount (especially since there has been 3 months worth of sales since december)

These games wont flop they are the savior of the system. Don't expect them to lift the PS3 up to the heights of PS2!

I don't expect GT5:P to do that well just because it's not the "main" GT game. MGS4 should do really well---especially over a few months.
As far as hardware sales, I don't think you can measure how well a game has influenced hardware sales in just one week. It's about momentum.
MGS4 will sell consoles over a period of time...not just the first week. Sometimes people buy a console because of a culmination of games...not just one game. What we should see is the ps3 hardware average weekly sales, gradually increasing throughout the year because of multiple games coming out...not just one game.

One tracker in Norway includes downloads (Spillforeningen), I'll see if I can dig up some numebrs and check percentages at least!
Neither one of these games is going to bomb. It's unlikely that they will sell as well as their predecessors, but they'll still move a fair amount of consoles and make money for their developers.

You can't say GT5P bombed in Japan because we don't know how many people got the download version....my guess would be about .5-.8 the number of people that got the BD version.
