Let's just face it. It will never be a good time for the NX to release. It was doomed the moment the Wii U was revealed. It's all over for Nintendo, amirite?

dw, I buried my Wii U in the backyard a long time ago.

What's a Wii U? It's the add on to the origial Wii, right?

Hopefully the sacrifice of the Wii U will make the NX one hell of a system to have!

im also really hopeful that they do go with a unified strategy for their handheld and console. i just cant see them providing 2 seperate platforms with adequate software support if were looking at a PS4 level console and a Vita++ level handheld.

Yeah same here! If there is anything I want from the NX, it would be this fusion!

Pocky Lover Boy!

well its hard for nintendo, when they released tge wiiu the xbox360 and ps3 where running out of steam but now they launch a console at the hottest point of the generation, with vr and massive aaa games hitting but... remaining to develop for the wiiu is prob worse

Yep this is what I want too.

a unified games library for both the handheld and the home console.

Cartridges that work on both systems.

Thats a million times better than the idea of a touch screen controller/gamepad imo.

Unified games library (cartridges) + normal controller + home console about as powerfull as a PS4 = success.

^ this is all nintendo has to do.

The best time to release the NX would be November 2012

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

*picks a shovel* Well, if you don't want it...

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Xenoblade Chronicles X was the last well received exclusive the Wii U will ever have. With a March 2017 release, that gives Nintendo fans a nearly year and a half drought of good games. When the NX launches it will just launch with Zelda.

Hmmm. What other system launched in Q1 and with just a Zelda game, that you could play on another system? How did that launch work out for the 3DS? Oh yeah! That's right. The 3DS launched as an overpriced system with no games. If the NX is anything over $250 then it will fail horribly.

Yet the PS4 launched with no games and a $400 price tag, and it's the fastest selling console this generation. Double standard much?

The PS4 launched seven years after the PS3. People were ready for a new console cycle. The XB1 sold for $100 more, and just had a terrible public relations problem. But yeah, I get your point. Somehow Sony can launch something expensive with no games, and see huge success. Meanwhile if Nintendo did that, they'd be out of bussiness.

March and the holidays are always filled with new releases. That doesn't mean you shouldn't release something in those months though. But your game has to be big enough, but I agree releasing in october or November is always smarter.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

None of them are out. I'm not sure how that claim can be made.

OT: Someone mentioned September. I agree that such a period would better for this sort of launch!

I'm a zelda fan.

Then Mass Effect fans will say ME is better, God of War fans will say GOW IV is better, Titanfall fans will say TF 2 is better.

Not sure personal preferences matter when it comes to sales. Besides how do you judge four games before they launch?
