A streaming box would make it VERY easy for third party developers to get onboard. They just have to port their game to the NX server.

The holy grail for third parties would be a gaming system that requires no physical production of media, packaging and shipping costs. This would drag all the multi platform game developers to Nintendo kicking and screaming, but eager for all the extra profits.

You have a fundemental misunderstanding of the literal point of streaming, which is to not need hardware.

You also have a fundemental misunderstanding of how streaming works. Streaming isn't some nebulous ether of easy-to-port airware. It runs on hardware just like everything else. It would be no easier to port games than it is now.

Also, Nintendo doesn't need to stream to not have physical.

You just said it. The NX servers ARE hardware and the games will have to be ported to run on those servers. Also, high security on these servers fits in with statements I have seen online saying Nintendo is putting lots of security features into NX. They have to make sure the games on these servers are secure.

Will I pay $60 bucks to play CD Project Red's Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 when I already have an NX subscription and can play the game with no extra cost? Or a small extra cost for access to that game? NX would be the more cost effective way to go.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

I'm not sure a lot of people spend 60 bucks a month in videogames. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds expensive as fuck! I know hardcore gamers will find that way more cost effective, but what about people who doesn't buy games every month? 720 bucks a year? I'm not sure it'll work.

*Sigh* The Know is one of the worst informative channels I've ever seen...

NX has been announced as dedicated gaming hardware.

Skipping E3 is easily explained by E3's diminishing relevance and Nintendo being insistent on being secretive until close before launch.

We have a winner. First reply, thread over, nice one.

I think the NX will be a microwave with an HD touchscreen, through which we can interact with Link and make our own potions for the game. I read it on askjeeves.

Off subject, but man I'm seeing a lot of crow avatars in this thread. Makes me glad I didn't vote in that bet thread.

On the plus side, some of your crow avatars are pretty nice.

NX isn't streaming. The point of streaming is to get rid on hardware on the consumer end. There is no streaming box for Nintendo. Only Sony is doing that.

I didn't know VGC was resorting to clickbait headlines for the NX now.

Can we just stick to a single speculation thread at this point? It's getting ridiculous, no offense to OP here.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

There will be hardware on the consumer end. A streaming box and a controller.

As far as Sony and their PS Now service, they have been saying there might not be a PS5. Maybe Sony has a future of streaming in mind too.

This is pure nonsens. NX is NOT a streaming box. I can guarantee you that.
