Not really sure how NX compares to PS4 Neo...one being new system, other revision of existing one. Then, at this point, I'm not really sure what NX actually is...or what market they are going after with it. In the end it will come down to software...and as Malstrom said in his recent piece:

"You never know where the next hit game is coming from, and so it is best to have a broad software strategy.

Selling game consoles is about creating a Great Software Pipeline of both First and Third Party games. It is not about the hardware. It also isn’t about the Killer App. It is about the probability of creating killer-apps. The best way to increase that probability is release as many games as possible."

This has been a huge part of Nintendo's problem since the N64. Different isn't always good, they seem to have been forced to learn this the hard way though. Let's hope the lesson sticks.

Alright im not gonna judge but I disagree cause unless the NX got the 3rd parties aboard its gonna be like Romney vs Obama all over again.

Well, lots of people changed the platform they play the videogames, at the very least it's a way to change the way people play them.

That's true.  In all honesty, it had a huge effect on the industry.  Look at how many people switched to the PS4 because of the Wii U.  It was a very impactful device, though probably not in the way some people thought.

I doubt seriously much of the Wii userbase migrated over to the PS4.

Soccer mom who was crazy about Wii Fit circa 2008 is probably playing Candy Crush on the iPhone now, not Call of Duty on the PS4.

The Wii sold over 100M.  Yes, a good number of those bought it for Wii Fit or Wii Sports and ended up pushing it behind the TV, but there is no way the Wii did not create new gamers.  A large group of children had the Wii as their first videogame console.  Sony has said that a significant amount of PS4 owners came from the Wii/360 and, while I haven't seen a breakdown beyond that, I think it's safe to say that many of the Wii gamers who wanted to continue gaming went with something other than the Wii U.  I don't believe those gamers should be overlooked.  Nintendo didn't only lose casuals, they lost people who could have increased their future consumer base.
