You can't say you've met me until spotting me AFK, look me eye to eye while none of us are wearing anything.

Your ideas about meeting someone are pretty intense. Sounds like some kind of video game nudist camp. Or maybe a video game communal bath. Or maybe it was time to do laundry but everyone said screw it, I'm going buff today.

Anyways, sounds good to me.

Let's talk in private. :P

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Heard the news while coming back to the US :p

Yes they were a fairly significant purchase for Nintendo. One that is worth considerably more now, so Nintendo is going to make a large profit.

Also Howard Lincoln former Chairman at Nintendo of America was running the Mariners. He wanted to retire, so that reportedly a big iaeptus for Nintendo wanting to sell the team.

Lincoln is one of the core members of Nintendo.

Why did they owned a baseball team in the first place?

It was the early 1990s and Minoru Arakawa and Howard Lincoln who were running Nintendo of America in Seattle.

The Seattle Mariners baseball team was in danger of moving because of ownership problems. Arakawa (Yamauchi's son-in-law) and Lincoln convinced Yamauchi to make a bid for the team in order to keep it in Seattle.

Yamauchi, who was swimming in money, agreed, though it was a big bruhaha at the time about a Japanese ownership group taking over an American baseball team.

Famously Yamauchi never watched the Mariners play even a single game, not even when they played in Tokyo.

Thanks, I have something to talk about with other Seattle people tomorrow.

President of Nintendo, Kimi, is getting ready to talk to Reggie about selling the Mariners.

Kimi: "Hey Reggie, remember how we own a baseball team?"

Reggie: "No, why?"

Kimi: "No reason."

Bill Trinen: "I remember."

Miyamoto: "Shut up Birr."

Was wondering if you could tell me what Iaeptus means? I looked up the greek titan myth.

What's fasinating to me is that Lincoln is still around. I honestly thought Nintendo and him separated a long time ago.

Here's Nintendo further explaining why they sold majority of their share of the Mariners: http://gonintendo.com/stories/256718-nintendo-further-explains-why-they-re-reducing-their-stake-in-the

Soundwave pretty nailed what was going on. So, since the Mariners are in a better place financially and Lincoln is set to retire, Nintendo felt it was time to hand the majority reigns of the franchise to the minority owners (forgot their names). Thankfully, the Mariners have solid fan support (from what I heard) so they can remain in the city of Seattle.

I remember when Nintendo was making those Ken Griffey Jr video games and Nintendo Power joked that they were going to change the name to the Seattle Marios. That's how I knew about it.

kind of disappointing to see, Nintendo has had such a big influence in the Seattle region, with their American headquarters being there. Things like owning part of that team in a weird way makes it seem like they have more stake in trying to bring their games to the West and/or working hard on their NTSC division

I guess I considered it endearing. kind of saddened to hear this haha

again, just because Nintendo seems to really like that region and its like their American footprint

You would think that this would free up a bunch of cash to actually invest into making more games.  I made a thread awhile back about asking if they should sell the team.  I believe they got a pretty good deal considering they had 55% of a team that was valued at 100m back when they bought it.  The TV deals are driving up the value of the teams right now and I believe they got about a 2 billion dollar TV deal for the Mariners.  They made a pretty damn good profit and hopefully use it to fuel more games.
