Soundwave pretty nailed what was going on. So, since the Mariners are in a better place financially and Lincoln is set to retire, Nintendo felt it was time to hand the majority reigns of the franchise to the minority owners (forgot their names). Thankfully, the Mariners have solid fan support (from what I heard) so they can remain in the city of Seattle.
