Honestly Nintendo launching the device, is what fucked it up, them pulling the plug on it, is the best decision they can do. The Wii U from business stand point is a failure since year 1 and 2, and that is when they had software for it.
So it is now official that it is the worst selling Nintendo console ever.

Well when it does not make financial sense to continue something, you do have to pull the plug sadly, their might be consequences for pulling the plug. Potientially discouraging people from picking up your future device, but honestly you have to make that up in the next device and make sure not to repeat the same mistakes.
Xbox -> Xbox 360 is a prime example of making sure you fix your mistakes by pulling the plug a bit earlier than expected.
