Basically they wanted to launch in 2016, but Nintendo being Nintendo couldn't help being late.

And they basically confirmed Wii U is a dead man walking console, they've given up on that.

Nintendo changes its approach to the show every year. This June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming game in The Legend of Zelda series. The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion. Additional information about Nintendo’s E3 plans will be announced in the future.

And guys... the writing was on the wall about 2017 from actual developers. Stop letting the Internet play you! But hey, looks like we will have Mass Effect 3 on Nx!... possibly!

Will we see that again? Mass Effect 4 on the NX, at the same time than the tetralogy is released on PS4/XBone, and ME4 is more expensive than the tetralogy. lol

I think it's a bad idea to show the Wii U version if the NX version looks better. They should just skip E3 entirely if this is what they're planning to do.

They likely were trying for the holiday. Couldn't make it, so March 2017 was the next available slot.
