Forums - Nintendo - Rock Band for the Wii

Well then this is a no go for me. Guess I'll get the 360 version. Maybe EA will reconsider, but if they don't, I'm all over that 360 version.

That's because the dumb ass Harmonix sons of bitches made a quick cash-in ps2 port!!

Harmonix: "oh crap, look how good guitar hero sold on Wii, better than ps3 even!!! We better make rockband for Wii. Quick just take the ps2 version and make it waggle."

Ignorant fucks. The reason guitar hero sold well is because it has nearly all the same features as the PS360 versions.

This will sell poorly.

Superchunk- no unfortunately this title will sell good and possibly go platinum. That's the sad things. 3rd party devs feed off casual gamer ignorance. Not to mention I doubt they'd care. I mean maybe the hardcore gamers won't buy it, but the casual will.

And just a note GHIII on Wii might actually pass the 360 version. Wouldn't that be crazy.

That sucks.

I love Guitar Hero, and was seriously looking at this. Why would you want to gimp what could potentially be your best selling version?

Rockband looked interesting to me when it was announced, but when I found out theres no online, I changed my mind, how dissapointing

What waggle? They said the peripherals don't even use the Wiimote. They're probably just going to re-paint the Playstation instruments white and ship it with those.

This is effing ridiculous.

I wish the PS2 would hurry up and die so developers no longer have the option of just porting PS2 games to the Wii.

To be fair though, if this gimped version of Rock Band sells well, why should harmonix care? If they can get away with putting out half-baked iterations of popular games (and having them sell), what makes you think once the ps2 is out of the equation that they will make any additional effort?

in a nutshell: don't buy the wii (or ps2) version.

Buy GH3 instead. It is good.

Don't buy it if you don't want it. I don't really see how they could do download content very effectively, since Nintendo hasn't even done that on first-party titles yet, with the exception of Smash I believe.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
