You just named 5 games for a 7 year span.  I think that might actually help make Turk's point...

He just named a few, to break out the idea of the Forza/Gears/Halo trio being the only worthwile thing post-kinect.

Not counting the multiplatforms you could get on PS3 as well, there's also Alan Wake, Fable, State of Decay, The Witcher 2, The Gunstringer, Ninety-Nine Nights (the sequel I think), Max: the curse of brotherhood, Titanfall, Zoo Tycoon, Akai Katana, Tropico, Gray Matter, Arcania (though it released on PS4 recently), plus certain other games that were exclusive to either America or Europe (not counting Japan obviously, especially for those we couldn't import due to region locking).

That's around 18 (worthwile) games in the span of 7 years. I mean, it's still not as good as it could have been, and certainly the first three/four years of the 360 beat the several next ones out in quality and quantity, but hey.

Why bother?

Why not. This is a 360 thread, so we might as well talk about its games. :P

It also brought us the best JRPG of the gen with Lost Odyssey! Such an amazing game.

Great run for a great console. Never owned one myself, but I've played it a lot at a friend of mine.

I might be in the wrong thread then. Additionally, there's not much to talk about but halo, gears and forza.

I realize $$$ may be an issue, but if not, you could buy one right now. I have 2 active PS3's, and bought a 3rd backup last year. I plan to buy a 4th.

I actually already have a backup 360. But not even that will last forever

By the time that backup dies though you will probably have the full 360 library backward compatible for the xb1!

I remember coming home from college one day and finding out we had a 360 with Gears of War, Top Spin 2 and Call of Duty 2.

That was a good day.

Damn right. Really under rated and unappreciated videogame.

Some of Uematsu's best work too.

Sales wise great success and they had a formidable marketing/timing strategy that trumped sony at pretty much every time Sony looked like they were going to make a come back. Shame they ruined it all with the XBO. It's amazing how good strategy can be ruined by poor decisions.

But... it's also disappointing how they treated the console in the last few years of its life before the XBO came out, they pretty much dumped it and I think its one of the many reasons why people moved over from XB to PS, because Sony just kept releasing game after game (and in some cases way too long).

Credit to Sony though the PS3 ended up being a fantastic console and I think when people look back, it will actually be considered a better console gaming wise. Sony were on the edge of disaster with it and really turned it around.
