F-zero NX confirmed.

Wow, this thing is leaking like crazy. Wii U didn't have nowhere near as many rumors 4 years ago.

Perhaps it's a new strategy. Let people believe what has "leaked", gauge reaction and keep people interested. NX chatter is all over the internet.  Nintendo is just dangling a carrot in our face and we're all trying to bite it.

Let's say this was true for a moment and the NX releases 39+ games next year.

Think about that for a second. That's a minimum 3.25 games a month, and that's only if it's divided evenly, which it won't be. How does Nintendo expect to advertise all of that? (digital marketplace) It's too many games to keep track of.

Wii U had far more leaks. The whole damn system and concept leaked because of Ubi Soft (controller screen + specs a little better than PS3/360).

We don't really know anything more about the NX today than one year ago in any concrete sense other than that developers have dev kits (we think).

Oh and some version of Dragon Quest XI might be coming out for it.

Those are the only real concrete things we've learned since it was announced.

I can't lie though, Wii U has some pretty stellar titles looking at the OP. Man, so many greats.

I'd be dubious of information from Nintendo fan bloggers too. No offence but they tend to get carried away and crown every successive Nintendo console as the "Nintendo is BACK" type thing. I've seen the same pattern happen like four product cycles in a row.

With Wii U we heard the same stuff like "Nintendo is back! They're doing it right this time! No motion controller gimmick, will have tons of third party games".

That overwhelming desire to see a "comeback" console from Nintendo often clouds objective analysis, and then you have five other sources run with it. The NX will have a good library in its first year, partly because Nintendo has no damn choice, but better than the Wii U in one year is a silly statement.

People who are too close to the company often can't see the forest from the trees.

...so she's saying that Nintendo is going to average around 3-4 1st party releases a month for the first year of the NX? The only way I see that happening is if there's a lot of Wii U ports and if a lot of those original 1st party releases are small games like NES Remix or Pushmo. Either that or they fall back to the NES tradition of heavily reusing/repurposing assets and other stuff.

Not just advertising. Nintendo would be heavily compeeting with themselves at that rate. Three or four games every month means almost a new game per week, there would be no breathing room between them. Bigger games would cannibalize each other, and smaller games would go unnoticed. And that's without 3rd party and indies in the mix.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

No where does she say she's talking about Nintendo output alone.

"In a single year, the NX will build a larger library of games than Wii U produced in three or four years."

I imagine that, in addition to restructuring 1st-party development to be more efficient, Nintendo will help out a lot more than they did in the Wii U era to ensure 3rd-party ports will be made for the NX.

They have to hit the ground running or they'll lose goodwill and publishers will quickly abandon them (like EA / Take Two did back in early 2013 after their launch titles failed abysmally sales-wise).
