Forums - Gaming - You can't change install location on Windows Store?

You can only install on the C drive, wtf? I have a small SSD for my W10 OS and install all my Steam games on a external drive, but Windows Store doesn't let me choose a location before downloading games, it just starts installing. I know you can move apps to other drives afterwards, but with Quantum Break nearing 100GB I'd rather just install it straight away on the drive I want.

That's terrible, didn't know i can't change install location on Windows Store.

1. Open the Settings app, and click on the System icon.

2. Click on Storage on the left side. On the right side under Save locations, select the drive you want New apps will save to.

3. When finished, you can close Settings.

Wow, that help but why couldn't they make pop up message location selection before you install? :S

The way I look at that kind of info is "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Thanks. Unbelievable they would lock the ability away somewhere in the settings and not let us choose the path before starting the download.

Even Steam asks for install location before starting the installation. Windows Store should definitely ask for install location for larger pieces of software such as games.

Yeah, even then I've also got it set to where it would usually install. Windows should definitely ask and I think allow for both though.

Yeah it would be a good idea to ask where to put it on, the xbox does that if you don't have any room on your hardrive (and I think even when you do, not sure though cause I don't really delete games.. I need to clear some of them though)

What does one use the Windows store for anyways? I've never bought anything there despite being purely PC for nearly a decade now.
