Forums - Nintendo - Miitomo generates $280k per week revenue.

kind of an irrelevant number when you consider amount revenue a company like Nintendo is bringing in through other means and certainly not a high figure for a mobile app in terms of revenue

Color me not impressed.

This is tiny revenue compared to others. And the app is dead now. Not in the top list anymore.

there is really no context as we don t know what it cost to develop or how much it is costing to operate on a daily basis- Relatively speaking it does not sound like a big number but it is early - it could drop off after the initial excitement or t could climb steadily- way to early to tell

I don't think the intent behind this app was to be a revenue driver, was it? I feel like Miitomo was supposed to be part of their plan to raise general brand awareness in the mobile space, but I could be wrong. It's not an "awful" number though, but not really very high.

Wow... that's low. Actually at that rate even a Gameloft title was considered a mediocre performer. I know it is still early, but lets hope that it keeps growing.

$12 million revenue in a year is a long long long ... way from wii like profits
Though as the saying goes every long journey starts at a single step

For a company as big as Nintendo, 280k per week doesn't seem like something to boast about.

Point of this first Nintendo app isn't to make money, Nintendo said main point is to make people download app and open Nintendo account, but also people to become aware of Nintendo at mobile devices, and also to be more like marketing tool for Nintendo other apps/games and products. So Nintendo will release also games with their popular IPs that very likely will not be free, and Nintendo expecting from those games to make money. Also Miitomo is out only 2 weeks so profit will be definitely be increased by time, so not bad at all for app that didnt had intention to make money.

App is dead because it's not in top list anymore!? Ok, then.

Considering it's just a platform for the rest of Nintendo's mobile content, I'd say it's ok. I'm sure its maintenance is very low compared to other mobile games, so profits all around.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

For what this game is and how the game explicitly avoids mentioning, let alone encouraging, ads or IAPs, that's more than decent.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Well it's profit! That is something.. now release it world wide.

That's decent considering they haven't done any kind of sale or have any kind of premium currency.

it's strong evidence that if they did release a game with some weak monetization tactics, they could be doing $280k per day and routinely be up in the charts.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
