Uncharted 4 says hi.

The weird thing to me is that this is what FF is known for. As far back as I can recall the FF series generally sets the standard for what the graphical and performance output for a machine can be. The race has certainly gotten tighter in more recent gens, but the fact that people are taking a hastily thrown together demo and declaring it as the be all end all of their expectation for the game is quite silly. |
People expected that FFXIII would be great especially after a long dev time and people disliked it or even hated it same with it's spinoffs (liked XIII-2 though), then they released FFXIV that was a fecking mess, even so bad they had to release it again. At that point you would expect they learned a lesson and would release a demo that would make people believe in them again....then it ended up with issues. Their are a lot of people out their who grown up with Final Fantasy in their life and call those games one of their best gaming moments and buy every game new FF game but get dissapointed over and over and just want confirmation that SE comes back with the magic. I felt I have been so burned by them that I don't care about FFXV anymore. As a teen I spended my student job money for a trip to france so I could buy FFX early + walktrough + music cd + figurines I loved so FF that much... And now I don't even pop up in FFXV threads anymore except for this one.....
Felt pretty sad with the FFXV demo I went out and bought FFX again for PS4.

I am right there with you in the passion for the franchise. Hell, I have a tatoo of Vivi and another one of a moogle on a chocobo on my body. I also feel though that people like us who have that passion for the franchise would recognize when they are putting together a hasty demo in an effort to show the evolution of the combat of the game. Which, essentially, is what they did with this platinum demo. I agree that it was a poorly put together display, and if they had the chance to do it over again they might have done it differently. However, to allow that demo to paint a picture of the full game when they expressly said that the demo was thrown together in a 2 month span with one specific purpose is a bit short-sighted imo.
To say uncharted 4 is less demanding than FF XV is really dishonest, especially when you take alpha screens from 2014.
Here despite the low quality of the screens you can see a game with much better art, lighting, much more foliage, 3 characters a lot more detailed, textures and visuals far better in general, much better physic, AI, etc and similar draw distance ( if youd know how an open world works, you'd know Uncharted 4 is much more depending than FF XV in this area).

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
Having PLAYED the new FFXV Demo, i can 100% say that it doesnt look nowehere near the bullshots that you can find online of the game.
It looks good, but not great.
Having said that, im judging the graphics by the demo i played.

These games play pretty much like interactive movies and therfore are looking maybe a little bit better (The Order 1886) ecstatically . But you cant say they are more demanding on the hardware or a better graphical showcase than any other game having vastly more interactivity and land scape like FF15. Espacially the order was so limited how can you argue this is more demanding? Everything what you see in FF15 is inetractive, you can spell any magic at any given time in a fight. On Uncharted 4 you cant choose if you want to grab your hook on a car and chasing it, its only one scripted sequenz that does that. Do you get the difference? Most of the fenzy stuff you see in these games are pretty much scripted events. Quantum break is all scripted you cant control the time in this game at all.
Uncharted 4 without scripted events/pure gameplay
Final Fantasy 15 without scripted events/pure gameplay
The only scripted event in FF15 will the water chasing scenes other than that its pure interactive.
You can see that FF15 renders 4 highly detailed characters every time as well. It has giant monsters, different enemy types, spells at any givene moment, better art syle, open world, better lighting, better alpha effect etc. etc. And also better characters models definitely in the real time cutscenes.
Yet somehow according to you games like the Order 1886 which can only render one Wolf in real time is supposed to be more demanding?
nope |
I totally understand your points and I do not think anyone said that the "graphics" of FF15 are bad just the frame rate was a big issue which it was. And As others have pointed out and have shown there are other games that are demaning as well that run much better than this. The engie is just not the best imo. But hopefully they fix it before the game releases.
Also of ALL the clips and images that are currently out you choose that ONE for UC4 and like 5 for FF15 it makes you seem bias and hard to tell if you are being serious in your argument to be honest with you. But I am sure there are easily much better ones you could have taken and used.
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

so everyone rather complains about the framerate and AA than actually looking at the amazing graphics of this masterpiece called FF15. And there are some people who really say that Witcher 3 or this and that game looks better than FF15. Really? How can any one dismiss the games graphics? They look absolutley amazing, the best graphics i have ever seen and unlike Uncharted 4 its an open world RPG with giant monsters and creatures not just some soldiers who look all the same. Its not the devolopers fault that your consoles are too weak to handle FF15. Instead complaining and whining at Square Enix you rather should beg and pettion at Sony and MS to realse a stronger PS4 or Xbox One. I dont know i am all for Console games remaining exclusives because thats how it used to be. But seeing all this hate from the pitchfork on forums makes me really want FF15 to come to PC to prove wrong the nay sayers, and Anti-PS4K-Advocates. |
Are you seariously asking this?
It's well known that FF15 is made in an engine that is NOT next-gen compliant. This engine was last-gen and therefore is NOT optmized for next-gen.
Of course the game itself will be optmized and it looks fantastic as it is, but the bare in mind that The Witcher 3 was heavily optmized for next-gen and it has some serious fps and graphical issues. I doubt very much that FF15 will skip that and deliver some "totally perfect gameplay". No, it won't.
As much as I love FF, and I'll definitely get this one because I have gotten every single one of them, I dare say that this will NOT be that "super awesome game" that FFVIII of FFX was (at least for me).
And yes, PC version will be a lot better.
And no, this forum hate is not even close to being fare to the game.

Dude, really? An Alpha picture from Uncharted 4 in a low light scene? Also, stop saying FFXV is open world, it's not.
I think you really need to chill out. Others have shown you over and over again the holes in your argument and you just keep digging in. You're way too invested in FFXV...
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Uh, but FF XV is open world.
"Its not the devolopers fault that your consoles are too weak to handle FF15"
I'm sorry, but this has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
A good developer works with the tools it has at hand; a good developer can make a great game with circles and squares; a good developer that has ambitions will adapt them to the resources it has; if it has ideas that can't make it into a game (call it advanced graphics, gameplay ideas, level designs, whatever) the developer should be good enough to make priorities and also mature enough to realize you sometimes can't have everything you want in a game.
The developers of FF XV should have enough experience to look at the challenges of working with the PS4 and XBOX ONE to adapt accordingly and still make a great game; if you always asks for more, you will never be satisfied.
