Forums - Gaming - FFXV team ambition is to sell 10 millions

You guys have the wrong context...

FF13 original sold something like 7 mil life time.

So if FF15 is a better game than 13 (considering 13 is not universally acclaimed), selling 3 mil more is not that hard.

Not to mention the DLC market is like 2-3 times bigger than when 13 was released. That's some more money right there.

Wow, SE strikes again with their lofty sales expectations.

Remember, this IS the same company that called TR 2013 a "flop" at 4.5 mil copies sold and Hitman: Absolution a "flop" at 3.6 mil on a fairly modest budget.

Always remember to take ANYTHING they say regarding sales targets with a grain of salt.

PS4, PC, Xone, PS5, Xtwo should probably do the trick. Nintendo and Square are not eachothers best friends, so I doubt that port happens.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

That's what 10 years of development will do...

When you break it down that way they are really just looking for a million for every year spent.  Not too bad I guess.

I don't think they'll hit that. lol

Remember that°?

FFXIII did almost 8 million between ps3/360, now with bigger user base, more hype and better reviews I think it can make it

Sounds doable. PS4+X1+PC
It's what i expected they wanted

Of course it is, they have absurd sales expectations on virtually ALL of their AAA games.

Remember, this is the same company that called TR 2013 a "flop" at 4.5 million copies sold and Hitman: Absolution a flop at 3.4 mil.

I thought Square-Enix had learned the lesson after the "failures" that had years ago with Tomb Raider Reboot, Sleeping Dogs and Hitman: Absolution... I was obviously wrong.

Still, one thing is making the money back, and another thing is being profitable. We don't know how much money S-E wants to get with the game.

At least this guarantees the besides the PS4, X1 and PC versions, NX will also have a late port.

Well, this is technically their biggest game in a very long time, so expecting 10m sales is not unreasonable. But yeah, how on Earth did they spend so much money that they need to sell 10m copies just to make even?

No, not to break even but to be successful. That's a big difference.

Please excuse my bad English.

Just don't make a bad game, it is that simple. Goodwill only goes so far.
