I hope it's a fake, it looks like a cheap plastic dish for appetisers.

Well whatever it is I hope it's something new and fresh to complement my PC. I can't be bothered with watered down PCs like the other guys, especially with stories of upgrades and what not floating around with them. I do want that Bloodborne and Horizon though, but not enough to get a PS4.
Still, I hope Nintendo keeps it crazy. This industry is pretty complacent right now, and I'm not too excited about VR in its current state. Not sure bout the whole hyrbrid thing, but hey if they plan to have many devices connect to each other I see potential in that.

I thought the same thing towards the statement that the 2nd screen would make the NX absurdly expensive (even more so than the Wii U). That, alone to me, debunks the idea that this is a controller for the console NX. Now, that being said, if someone told me this was a prototype version for the handheld version of the NX, I'd be more inclined to believe that
here's an interesting vid by SMD64 that somewhat ties in to this rumor, a great complement to haptic feedback (tactile/physical)

thats another thing, we still don't know if its going to be a Handheld, a home console, a hybrid combining both of what theres was even arumor saying that the NX consist of 2 parts the handheld and the HC and that they will launch this year the handheld and the next one the console but thats hard to believe |
I think the HC was confirmed to be launching this year along with a port of Zelda thanks to a legit leak.

I was thrown off by the "leak" part of your post; a patent isn't a leak, nor always representative of a final, or even real, product. |
The leak was the design...

I didn't say wow I said wtf
If it's real I won't judge it before trying it out by myself. I remember that when I first saw the Wii controller on those Wii commercials with japanese people, the first thing I thought was "not getting into this waggle stuff", yet I ended up liking the Wii a lot...
That would suck but it's fake
Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).
Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !

Gotta laugh at Nintendo betraying their "affordable HW model." They already did that with the Wii U, including an expensive controller with extremely weak HW, when compared to the competition, which lead them to launch at $299, $349 for the more desirable model. It seems they are going to be repeating the same exact strategy they did with the Wii U, unless this thing is going to be $499-$599 at launch. And we all know how well that turned out for any other console.
Also, given that the Wii U controller shouldn't have even been that expensive to make in the first place, with it's 480p res and resistive touch tech, it seems Nintendo just can't negotiate the kinda prices Sony can. I can only imagine how much a controller like this would cost Nintendo, which does lead me to believe the HW specs won't be that great. It also won't help that the manufacturers of the chips aren't going to be willing give Nintendo a really low price, given how much the Wii U sold.

Just to make one minor point (not disagreeing with the gist of your post) -- inflation is kind of a thing.
Super Nintendo launch price = $199.99 US in 1991 is $350+ in today's dollars.
NES Action Set ($149.99 in the 80s) is over $300 today too.
