Haha. If it makes you feel better, I'd switch places with you any day. Being alone sucks :(
Whever I'll get a girlfriend, I'll make sure to have a room reserved as a man-cave where I can keep all my hobbies. Don't know if it'll work though.
I LOVE ICELAND!

interesting thread idea, tagging for a read later :)
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

That works, however prepare to deal with the subtle guilt when you retreat to the cave instead of watching the bachelor or idol :p

I think I can live with that :)

I haven't heard of any of those games. Now I need to check them out. Discovering new PC games is so fun.

Some of them are the most highly acclaimed PC titles. lol
Sacrifice was interesting in that it blended Action 3rd person with RTS mechanics.
Evolva you can absorb the genome of enemy's you kill to evolve, heaps of fun.
Battlezone 2 is another game that mixed FPS with RTS, so much fun with this game, at first the controls will be a little wonky, but once you learn them, the game really does come into it's own.
It is what I would consider to be the golden years of PC gaming, best graphics, constant new game releases, boundries pushed with genre-mixing and testing of new ideas.
The market has matured now so we don't get many risk-taking like we did back then.
Give Descent, Freespace 2, Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Arcanum, MDK, Dungeon Keeper, Carmageddon, Total Annihilation, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, System Shock 2, Arcanum, Gothic, Dark Reign, Emporer: Battle for Dune, Sanitarium... And I'll stop.
Heck, download Dink Smallwood too, it's free. :P

Most highly acclaimed? Evolva and Battle Zone 2 had moderate reviews, they certainly are not classics. I will vouch for Dink Smallwood though =D

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

"some". :P
It was mostly in reference to Sacrifice, one of the best PC games of all time.
And I would have to argue Battlezone 2 not being a classic.
Also. Nerf Arena Blast. Get that crap up and running on a LAN and have a blast. Haha

Sounds like innovative games, never heard of those, will check them out sometime on gog. Indies dont have this much breadth of coverage as far as genres and mixing them go. But then again, most indies never had much originality imo, it's always a rip o.. excuse me, "inspired by" the well known classics.
