Yes splatoon will be the highest Selling Home Console Game for 2016 on a single console excluding FFXV for the year! (So wwith Multiplat, talking per system!) 

Splatoon Currently at 135k retail with the only game that has outsold it is DQ builders ps4 (around 220k-240k?). Games that have a chance of beating it or splatoon having a hard time against are persona 5 (ps4),  DQ heroes 2 (ps4), maybe paper mario? I'm sure there are more...  Anywaysss... 

If splatoon has a 5% digital ratio for the year than it'll look like this...

Per week vs year sales

5k * 362k

6k * 406k

7k * 450k

8k * 494k

9k * 538k

10k * 582k

Im going with an avg of 8k per week for the rest of the year so it'll be around 500k...  Thoughts? 

Oh BTW I don't expect dq11 to hit this year

Splatoon has consistently been doing well.. Especially during this time of no one buying Wii U's there due to shortage issues.. The game is getting more updates, more people are talking about it, I have no doubts this can achieve that. Especially when the holidays hit with Zelda.

Meh, as long as the legs of the inklings I have been, I doubt that. Japan's console industry is pretty dry as far as retail seems to be but I can't believe that in 2016, Splatoon will still be enough to top the console industry again. It will be one of the top five but there will no doubt be something that sells more individual units in the 2016 calendar year then Splatoon. Probably Persona 5 and something else.

Persona has consistently topped off in Japan around 350k though. With something with as much brand recognition as FFXV coming out possibly in the same launch window Persona 5 has a very hard time of matching up to something like Splatoon if current trends keep up.

If FFXV (lol) is released this year then no.

I think it will be possible for a PS4 game to beat Splatoon this year (maybe something unexpected like Ni-Oh or an unannounced game who knows?).

Doubtful, especially when it is still being beaten by Dragon Quest, and by the OP himself, we're excluding FF XV.

I like to know when people read op of threads. I'm glad 7 out of 8 did so far :p
