Cartridges are more advanced and cheap now than ever, they must come back.

As much as I'd like to see this, it might not be economically feasible to include both a cartridge slot and an optical media reader for Blu-ray and DVDs.  Now don't get me wrong.  I don't have to play my Blu-rays on a consoles when not given a choice. But I think the masses are more accustomed to having a multi-purpose device.

Why would they include a disc-reader if they had cartridges? Nintendo devices have never been multimedia all-in-one machines, and I don't think that will change in the future. If anything, those features will be digital-only, trough digital apps.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Don't own a PS4 or an XB1, but I hear PS4 takes a lot less time to install games.

I get 20% off new releases from the get go along with a good chance of an additional $10 gift certificate when i buy physical. I can trade in games for close to the same amount i spent and buy more games. It takes much less time to install games on ps4 than it does to download. Not seeing much of a reason to get digital besides taking 10 seconds to switch a disk or paying more than I would spend on physical to have a game ready to play at 12am.

I want physical copies.

But I don't want to change them to play different games.

I've actually become very lazy when it comes to physical games. Once I booted up my Wii U to play Xenoblade Chronicles X but it turned out my Smash Bros disc was loaded, I ended playing Smash instead because I didn't feel like switching the discs.

There has been no physical PS4-game where i haven't been up and running in 10 minutes. That the xbone wasn't designed with discs as the primary delivery-method for games is MS' fault, not the discs

Again, I agree with your sentiment.  I just don't think the crowd at large will go for it at this point in time.

And for the record, all.  I prefer physical over digital when possible.

The difference in the amount of time is actually absurd.  If I recall correctly it took about 30-40 minutes for me to install Gears of War Ultimate on my XB1, and about 5 minutes to install The Division on my PS4.

That really is lazy!

I've been spoiled by PC gaming.

Another mindless Forbes article. Sounds like the guy is playing on an XB1 as there have been articles that games load faster on PS4 than XB1.

Cant speak for XB1 but for PS4, you can start playing the game almost right away while the game continues to install in the background. As well installation of a game off a disc on PS4 literally doesn't take that long at all.

The guy shouldn't blame the disc but moreso MS/Ubisoft since PS4 doesn't seem to have a problem with that.

If MS says disc are stupid it's either because they purposely made their XB1 run that way so people will slowly shift towards digital. Or they're hardware isn't as fine tuned and can't handle it as well as the PS4 (my random theories lol)
