Probably Street Fighter V. I can see it becoming a decent/good seller in the long run. Street Fighter always had legs.

This will be an interesting one to watch, because ROTTR is showing good legs as well.

Definitely. Either way I think it will be close.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Is this based on VGCHARTZ data? Cuz NPD already disproved your week 1 sales for RoTR

If adjustments are made I can update the OP.

My vote goes to SFV. Bigger franchise and many people are holding off till the new content drops. To think SFV won't have legs that go much further than RotTR is just foolish.

Well since I like both games I'll cheer that both have good sales... I won't buy RTOR on launch on PS4, but I'll end up buying

Its difficult to gauge if going exclusive was a mistake. Primarily because we dont know how much money changed hands for exclusivity.

However, I think timed exclusivity is usually the best route for an IP. Because they can still build a fanbase on a platform even if a game is late. Which helps the next game succeed.

More like "timed exclusivity is usually the best route for an IP since Microsoft has been doing it for a while." That's more reflective lol.

O.T. SFV will have legs as long as content keeps rolling in.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

True... Titanfall, DR3, Ryse, and Sunset Overdrive were all timed games that came to PS4. Right?

A lot of indie stuff has been timed with PS4.

Bigger franchise is a strange argument.

I think SF has a more hardcore following. But Tomb Raider has sold more.

Tomb raider is on 4 platforms. Street fighter only on 2
it's the better game with better critics and word of mouth.
why should tr not sell 6 million? Even the last incarnation  sold 7m afaik. And return of the romb raider is generally considered the better game out of the 2 new tomb raider games.
and sfv need a heck of a turnaround to sell more than 3 million

Only if tomb raider will fail miserably on the ps4 and sell well below 1m, this game won't reach 5 or 6 million lifetime.

Two very different games, SFV was marked down on content (which will soon be added), nobody said it wasn't a good game. The core game is excellent and most, if not all the reviews go out of their way to say this.

Street Fighter just received a 9 / 10 from PS UK official magazine, people do still put some stock in publications opinions. The content thing was hugely overblown.

By the time Tomb Raider releases, Uncharted 4 will have been out quite a while and ROTR will seem like old hat, it also has competition due from Horizon, a game that is truely open-world, far more innovative and unique and has a more compelling character.

I think ROTR is in for a harder time than you think.

Also people keep comparing SFV sales to SFIV sales, which is in my opinion a huge error. SFIV sold not because it was any good but because it came at a time when people hadnt played SF in a long time and people bought out of nostalgia. That nostalgia has had its fix and now no longer needs filling. The game is trending as a normal fighting game would. Approximately 600 - 650k sold WW across all platforms and regions est.

It's hilarious that you can say all of this having played zero of Horizon and presumably zero of ROTR.

If it's done the right way yes temporary can be a good thing. But I doubt exclusivity for SFV damaged sales more than timed for RTOR, but we'll have to wait for more info.

You wanna argue which was damaged more. I'm arguing exclusvity hurts sales potential of both. SF is a popular IP in the US.

However, the sales potential of RotTR was hurt less because its still coming to PS4.

Street fighter V sold pretty poorly. Check the NPD? The ps4 version of naruto, which didn't even top the top 10 list either, outsold sfv
