PS4 SFV is pretty much confirmed >1m in 7 weeks.

A lot of us really doubt it sold that unless its shipped numbers.

But whatever, lets see if VGChartz makes some changes.

Tomb Raider was 1m X1+360 shipped and digital. Of which we know US NPD 346k X1 and 66k 360, which is why I say X1 version is <1m

SFV was 1.4m PS4+PC shipped and digital. Which makes me think PS4 version is >1m.

Both assumptions based on real numbers, but they are not too farfetched.

Actually, on January 4th Greenberg flat out said they sold through well over 1 million. NOT SHIPPED, SOLD.

And it also includes digital for X1 and 360, as SFV does. So it would be hard to believe it made 1m retail.

If they're confirmed numbers from both SE/capcom like he stated why would you not consider them in a thread about sales comparisons of the two games?

What's the point of the thread then?

SE didn't give exact figures and I suspect Capcom is giving shipped numbers. I'm not sure what you don't understand.

If VGChartz updates its figures to reflect what Capcom says (which would be the opposite of shipped numbers), I will gladly update the thread.

So capcom stated they're shipped numbers or you're assuming they are?

My apologies for not understanding the thread. The title said first 10 weeks sales.  I didn't know you meant VgC only. I just assumed if new sales information was available it was relevant to the context of the thread.

In a nutshell, I'm just going with VGChartz. We aren't even sure if SFV numbers are shipped or sold, too little info and far from VGChartz.

If we had the exact sales figures from both SE and Capcom that would obviously trump this site. But we don't have that info.

Loooks Like Street Fighter won this match, the Game Shipped 1.4 Millions of units as of March 31, and only sold 160 Thousands on PC as of May 8

The Number is Shipped but just count  the Sales until March 31, they Shipped 1.4 Millions of Units, this is 7 Weeks after Launch, the game sold 160 on PC as of May, so the game sold more than 1 Million on PS4 in less than 10 Weeks, those are Official statements, Microsoft Stated that all the games of the 2015's Biggest Line Up sold more than 1 Million of Unit (i don't remember if the term was "Above" or "More") this does not means Much more.

And is silly to compare VG Chartz's Numbers when we have Exactly numbers from Capcom, and a Vague Statement from Microsoft that can put Tomb Raider in Any number between 1-2 Millions but probably are low 1 Million Numbers.

The Shippment numbers are of March 31 The Shipped Digital isn't so big, maybe isn't even 10 Thousands, they Expected 2 Millions and shipped 1.4 Millions this means that they don't overshiped it at launch they Shipped based on Demand, in 3 Weeks i'm sure that Those Shipped Numbers are already Sold-out.

And Regarding the Deals, Wasn't good for Square Enix to Delay a game for other plataforms when the versions of the PS4, and PC,  could have launched in the same day as the Xbox One.

Did Konami was bashed when they made Metal Gear Solid 4 Exclusive for PS3 ?, Street Fighter will sell well during all the Life-time of the game (5-6 Years), and because of the Bad Launch is hard to say if Street Fighter V was a bad deal, it need to sell 3+ Millions until the end of the year to be a good Deal, it can still sell 3 Millions until December 31 or even more. Also you need to take in consideration that the Xbox One have less ground for games than the Xbox 360, A Lot of genres that are dominant on PS4 the Xbox One sell 3-4 sometimes even 5x less than the PS4's Version, Xbox One's version of Metal Gear Solid V sold nearly the same as the PS3's version, some games like Far Cry also sold much more on PS4, so is Easier to make a good deal with the PS4, than with Xbox One, Tomb Raider would sell A lot on PS4, is much risker when you take a game away from their Fanbase than when you don't launch a game for a Plataform where the Fanbase for Street Fighter isn't so big.

And Street Fighter V is a Multiplataform Tittle.

Sony will still make the Street Fighter Events for Capcom, and they will still have Free Marketing from Sony, throught all Street Fighter 5's Lifetime.

We still don't know budgets or just how well it did relative to the deal made with MS, and vice versa for SFV.

1.I mean if it was same budget as TR 2013, then it is doing worse due to the PS3 version. PS4 and PC going to have to make up for a lot of lost sales.

Maybe I am completely wrong, but imo ROTR had a higher budget then SFV. Western games tend to have ridiculous budgets compared to Japan, especially when you take into account how little content SFV has.

2.Things get even more complicated when you look at FW sales, IE sales at full $60. I am not sure the relationship between retailers and companies during the holidays. For example when you add TR to bundles, the game generates less revenue. Obviously is very beneficial for selling hardware, but less revenue for software.

3. Maybe I am pessimistic but I do not think ROTR will outsell TR 2013.

With all that said I feel both SFV and ROTR flopped. The Exclusives did their job of creating hype, and selling to the hardcore, and some hardware.

Again these things are far too complicated for us to figure out, and neither MS or Sony will likely talk about how beneficial the deal was.

Well you're the one saying both flopped not really knowing anything. I'm just pointing out from a sales perspective we certainly know RotTR is in a better position and its profits are not dependent on a single console. TR is also more popular on PC than SF.

1. We don't know how big the budget was RotTR, but we certainly know MS covered a lot to get exclusvitiy. Otherwise it would have launched on PS4 as well.

I would assume RotTR had a bigger budget, but they have more platforms to depend on so that justifies a bigger budget. However, the ongoing support Capcom has planned for SFV can't be cheap either and is selling less.

2. Well we are at a point where SFV has already been heavily discounted with less sales than RotTR.

3. That might be the case... and that's why MS paid Square Enix for exclusivity. Less sales are likely for the exclusvitiy so they pay them to make it worthwhile.

Personally, I think this exclusive buying a complete waste of time for both MS and Sony. They are literally spending money keeping games away from people. But I guess its cheaper than making games.

We cannot know for sure who paid more for what, but if was to make Assumptions you really think that a Game that will launch for PS4 1 Year later cost  more than a Game that will have 5-6 Years of Support from Sony and Capcom ?, Plus it won't launch for the Xbox One.
