Wall for the US?

Yep 76 30.52%

Nope. 173 69.48%

Total:249

A bunch [or some] people are killed at the Isreal wall every year? Imagine if they didn't have one. The crazy knife attackers would have no barrier to cross to get over there and do their 'business'. The cost of the US wall will be taken out of Mexican trade and aid monies. We will still have Border Patrol to get the ones that do figure out a way over or under. Tunnels have to end in the US to work. People around the world do not have a right to immigrate to the US. US citizens do have a right to know who is allowed in and what they intend to do when they are here. We legally let in more than a million a year every year. Most of these people have waited in line and have learned English and are ready to be a productive taxpayer contributing to the melting pot we have here. Most of the illegal border crossers are illiterate and have no job skill we need. And by illiterate I mean they can't even read Dr Suess books like most 1st graders can. There is no incentive for them to melt in as we allow and actually help them by having Spanish TV, radio, literature at Gov offices, and every other business with the dual language signage and workers available. Why learn English when you can get by with help from the taxpayer? US citizens are at the breaking point now with our officials who allow [and in the Dem case, promote] illegal immigration. I hope They start the wall building the next week after the new Prez takes office.

It's so humorous to watch people in the US scream "freedom for all humans!!" back in the 80's when the eastern and western Germans had a wall up and all of a sudden, it's "BUILD A WALL"!!

Hey, here's a concept. Instead of hiding behind "laws" why no just say what you're REALLY thinking. "I'm a bigot, I hate Mexican people and I want them to go home."

You said exacty 'IT' at the end... they aren't Americans, they are Mexicans[and alot of others too]. Why is wanting Americans in America bigoted?

It's moronic, serves no purpose and there is no valid way to defend it.

illegal immigration is the opposite of the problem with the US. immigrants, especially illegal Mexican ones, fill in a big part of the lower bracket of the economy, i.e. jobs that educated people do not want.

those focusing on the need for a 'wall' are really out of touch with how the bottom of the US economy works. you cut off those desperate for low wage jobs and then who is randomly going to fill them? I'll tell you who- people who regularly could get better jobs will be forced to get worse ones because the economy will get damaged.

you break the legs of an economy and it can collapse. again, people saying "We need a wall!" have no idea how many illegals without paperwork are getting low income jobs under the books that help the economy. And the thing is an immigrant from Mexico might actually be happy making the wages they do (in some cases secretly below the minimum US wage), but a lot of born eductated American citizens wouldn't be happy with the same pay (or be able to survive).

a wall will only hurt the United States. Mexican illegal immigrants are not hurting the country because at this point the economy relies on them to fill out a low income job bracket (look at like practically every 7-11 or gas station you go into at who's working and figure it out in your head- a lot of those types of employees are being paid behind the books and in many cases aren't citizens).

I'm just emphasizing that a wall is stupid and will just hurt the structure of the economy, like a pyramid so to speak. if huge swarms of drug activity was flying into the country in the form of violence that would be different, but its not really happening. sure, some towns that border Mexico are quite violent, but beyond that nothing has drastically changed across the USA because of the influence of Mexican illegals. most of them are just looking for better jobs and lives, and even the lowest paying minimum wage jobs here are in some cases BETTER than what they can get in Mexico

I believe you and every democrat are the ones out of touch.  An illegal immigrant comes into a job opportunity with a social security number from a deceased American citizen.  The employer hires this illegal immigrant and fires the legal American citizen because he realizes that he can pay the illegal immigrant less money.  An intelligent person would notice that this is Identity Theft/Identy Fraud according to the Department of Justice.  What does Obama do?  He says that since the illegal immigrant paid into social security using a fraudulent social security number, then he is elligible for social security benefits.

This is just one of the moronic things stated in Obama's Congressional Research Service memorandum back in 2014 and can be read here:

https://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/homesec/R43798.pdf

If an American citizen stole and used someones social security number, they would be in jail and classified as a criminal.  When an illegal immigrant (criminal by definition) does it, they get a free pass and are given more at the American citizen's expense.

Every employer who hired an illegal immigrant should get a hefty fine to deter future employees from hiring illegals in the future.  Every illegal immigrant should also pay a fine and for the taxes that they never paid.  Doing so will give them a path to legalization if they have no criminal record.  The refusal of citizenship for illegal immigrants is imperative to discourage future illegal immigrants from coming into this country.

You mention that only "some towns that border Mexico are quite violent".  Are those people not important enough to build a wall and protect them.  Isn't that the presidents top priority: to protect the American people?

It amazes me how democrats put illegal immigrants (criminals) before American citizens who follow the laws of the land.  Oh I am sorry Kate Steinle, the democrats didn't care that you followed the laws of the land.  Instead they favored a man who was deported 5 times and then decided to kill you in a city that harbors and protects criminals.

What happened to the idea of the HUMAN RACE? What happened to the novel concept of taking care of humans in need? These people, most of them live in squalor. The want to come to the land of "opportunity" to work and raise a family. That's it. They want to come here, work, pay taxes, abide laws, buy a house and raise a family. And people want THEM go leave? It makes no logical sense.

The only reason the majority of people want a wall, or to send them away is bigotry and fear.

Where did you get the numbers from?

OT: No, walls will not work. It will run up a massive cost for society, it will not prevent people from getting to the US and its prescence will only fuel extremism. And Trump have no idea of its cost, he's a pretty incompetent individual.

$10 billion is a massive cost ?

Fuel extremism ? It's called having national security ...

Everything is countrolled through money by the drug cartel, who use force when money won't work. People die over this, and many areas are just simply dangerous to live in now. So yeah, tyrany.

And no fallacies. There's a problem, I proposed an idea. Everyone else is so busy dismantling that idea to come up with their own ideas. Bring me a solution that won't end in another drug regime taking over or the current one maintaining its power. Then I'll further discuss this with you. Until then, you're acting no better than an average politician.

Even the wall would be a better solution than invading México lol. I don't know where your notions of politics of mexico come from, but they are an exageration.

Oh, and that's not tyrany man, it's a heavily currupted enviorment but I tell you that even institutions from the states have been involved in drug dealing issues. Hell, the crack epidemic was helped by the CIA and that doesn't mean your country is a tyrany and by no means is a justification for any other country to invade and "set things straight".

And there is a fallacy when you point out I don't even live there so it's silly that I comment (I did live in USA btw), specially when you show such ignorance in geopolitical terms and international law notions that makes you actually think it's valid or a good idea to take over mexico since "how much they want to move to America anyways"

I haven't shown ignorance, you've shown naivety. Having lived in America is also very different from living on the Mexican/American border. In a perfect world, Mexico would have already fixed itself. Instead, the borders are flooded with traffic heavily favoring one direction.

But of course, continue believing we're still in a diplomacy stage. Continue believing that just because it isn't on the level of Saddam's regime that it's not tyrany. Cruel and/or oppressive government rule. The fact that is not really the government, but the cartel speaks volumes. Feel free to ignore it, though, all in the name of hugs, candy, and rainbows. Maybe we can live in harmony with the cartel, right?

The truth is a wall is really there to satisfy low I.Q. racists and even Trump himself knows it'll never get built, it's just something that's pushing him to win Republican votes, he has an easy out if he's ever president in saying "well don't blame me, the Democrats/Mexican government/my own party blocked it" when it never gets built.

Illegal Immigrants only cost the US 1.5% of its yearly spending ... that's a drop in the bucket, they are not some massive "financial drain" if you took them out of the equation you could build a couple more stealth bombers. Whoopity doo.

The way people talk you would think they are like 10-20% of the US budget, not even close, it really just boils down to good ol' fashioned racism at its core.

Reform the immigration entirely. Legalize those who are already in the US aside from the tiny fraction that are actual violent criminals. Most Mexicans in the US are just hard working regular family folk who quite frankly are willing to work harder than many lazy Americans. Legalize them and get them paying more taxes to contribute to the tax pool moreso, they pay a "fine" of higher taxes over the next 5-8 years as a "penalty".

In general IMO the US should allow more immigrants too provided they are willing to pay higher taxes for the first 5-10 years. Trump's own freaking wife Melania didn't have US citizenship for like 10+ years. If a guy who is a billionaire can't get legal citizenship for his wife what chances does a regular joe have? Allow people who are willing to pay to become citizens faster. The way the system is set up now is just encouraging people entering illegal, give a legal pathway but one in which the government profits.

all legal immidgrants by fingerprint ID or at least a photo ID is a good idea

Glad we could come to an agreement. So, stricter regulation, no benefits for illegals, and no wall.

Sure.  A wall is a last resort.  That's why nothing has been done about this.  Thank you for not saying I hate immigrants just because I want people to come legally.  Hate how this argument normally turns into that.

I am Iron Man

Either build a wall to keep illegals out, or use our armed forces to fix mexicos problems so they dont have a need to flee their country. I'm fine with either one
