I can't even tell if you're being sarcastic here or not.

i'm on the fence. the old Nintendo fan tells me great, the logic in me tells me they should grow it to meet 2016 standards for a new gen consumer, even make a little cartoon series on it to appeal to kids and teens. They could become more mainstream iconic characters for Nintendo similar to Mario and Pokemon.

ie similar level of Sym-Bionic Titan. TRON Uprising  but with Nintendo's magic added to it.

The reason why I think this will work because every main character story based game in recent years is post apocaliptic events mainly zombies or war with real characters.

Time to bring back some fury made up animals into the spotlgiht for something different lol

Well Nintendo tried twice to take Star Fox in a more "mainstream direction" and both have at best cult appeal, with a lot of people finding them to be very...blah.  So going back to the basics is a logical step.  I think they should always have the classic Star Fox play as a major part or the focus.  I think they should build on that with new mechanics and levels.  I think the transformations are  a cool addition and the stealth levels look like a cool change of pace.  I actually think another good idea would be some on-foot missions that are kinda like Metal Gear, with Fox having to infiltrate or fight through, say, a station or ship to disable defended to allow the Corneria forces to attack.  I think stuff like that would spice it up but still maintain the focus on Fox's identity.  No need to sacrifice the identity of Star Fox.  In fact, doing that can ruin a franchise.

"There is no confident way to datamine fan opinion on a video game, random, sufficient or accurate."

So there's no way to get accurate data to support your opinion, but you're still going to tell me it's true.  XD

"That is done by the way I have stated in my previous posts."

You mean by talking to your friends, and looking at comments on reviews?  Lulz. Just so happens I've also been on message boards, talked to friends, and read comments and the majority of people really liked Skyward Sword.  So it appears we are at an impasse.

"You are aware of what fan opinion of SS is, with the majority completely disagreing with major reviewers. "

Nope.  I absolutely am not aware of this.  In fact, my observations show just the opposite.  But, I don't assume that my limited information actually represents "the majority".  Cause I'm smart enough to know about things like sampling methods, the unreliability of anecdotal evidence, confirmation bias, and about how evidence and reason work in general.  So, I'm smart enough to know that presenting my observations as some sort of objective fact would make me look quite foolish.  That's why they call me "professor" :).

Do you have any evidence of the majority of people liking Skyward Sword?  Do you have any resaerch or sampling methods to back your statement?

I never presented anything I've said about Skyward Sword as fact.  Hopefully you are smart enough to know you imagined this.

"Do you have any evidence of the majority of people liking Skyward Sword?  Do you have any resaerch or sampling methods to back your statement? "

Of course not.  Which is why I specifically said... "But, I don't assume that my limited information actually represents "the majority". Swing and a miss.

"I never presented anything I've said about Skyward Sword as fact.  Hopefully you are smart enough to know you imagined this."

Let's check the instant replay on that one...

You are aware of what fan opinion of SS is, with the majority completely disagreing with major reviewers.

Asking for numbers of fan opinion of a video game which is well known is nonsense.  Google that shit. Not everything needs a citation, professor.

If you're saying that I'm aware of it, then you're stating it as a fact.  Unless you're trying to say that I'm aware of your subjective interpretation of what the fan opinion of the game is, which would be all kinds of ridiculous.

And if you're saying that the majority of fans completely disagree with major reviewers, that is a fact statement.  There's just no way to interpret this as anything else.

And if it's "well known" then you are again indicating that this is something that is fairly objective and not your subjective opinion.  That's why the phrase "well known fact" is quite common and "well known opinion" is something that you've probably never heard before.  Also, the word "completely" again is an indication of fact.

Not only that, but apparently it is so well known that it was "nonsense" for me to even challenge it.  XD Yes, you definitely presented that as a fact.  It's not in my imagination, it's in your text.  And if you weren't trying to present it as fact, then you're doing a shitty job communicating.

Furthermore, if you don't think this is a fact, I can't figure out why you're trying to use it to show the gaming media is corrupt.  "Gaming reviewers are clearly corrupt.  I can prove this by showing that my opinion of other people's opinions of Skyward Sword goes against the opinion of reviewers." @_@

If the "majority opinion" of Skyward Sword is not a fact (and it's not) then it'd be pretty stupid to bring it up to try and show that the gaming media shouldn't be trusted, which was kind of the whole point you were trying to make.  And the point I was making was that this is not a fact, and not even a particularly well supported opinion.  So, I accept your concession of the point.

This is the case for most nintendo games. Just watch Paper Mario Color Splash getting high scores.

Remember how Skyward Sword got perfect scores most places, but most non fanboy Zelda players didn't like it much?  The majority of reviews for "AAA" published games can't really be trusted.

I'm certainly not a Zelda fanboy, and Skyward Sword was superb in my book.

To a degree. they took out the core functon of the game and went into another direction. Thy shoudl have expanded on the core with the foot missions.

I like the idea of simalr to MEtal Gear where he does things to infiltrate. I think they could make fox more edgy character and nt so serious after all he is a fox so cunning sly etc.. be a differnt wa to build up a characers vs the traditional bad ass who is serious and mysterious lol.

Same here. I love the Zelda series, but I have only played the main titles (no triforce heroes, only a bit of minish cap, ect) and I certainly don't go nuts over any game with the title LoZ in it. It's not the series I buy Nintendo consoles for, and I have mixed feelings of some of its games. That said Skyward Sword was absolutely amazing and my favorite LoZ story from the series.

I'll throw my hat in the ring for SS as well.  Love the art style, like the controls, really like the story as far as I got.  The presentation is quite superb IMO and overall it's quite fun.

Also, message boards and review comment sections are hardly good sources for representative opinions.  Negative people are always first and loudest to speak; studies have even shown this.  Combine that with the fact that those specific things limit the scope of discussion to SS's quality, and majority are going to wind up being echo chambers representative of nothing.  And Zelda has a similar situation to TES games in that every game now sends some group of fans into seething rage fits.
