I'll throw my hat in the ring for SS as well. Love the art style, like the controls, really like the story as far as I got. The presentation is quite superb IMO and overall it's quite fun.
Also, message boards and review comment sections are hardly good sources for representative opinions. Negative people are always first and loudest to speak; studies have even shown this. Combine that with the fact that those specific things limit the scope of discussion to SS's quality, and majority are going to wind up being echo chambers representative of nothing. And Zelda has a similar situation to TES games in that every game now sends some group of fans into seething rage fits.
