Forums - Nintendo - New NX Rumor about Activision supporting the system.

I am pretty sure that almost every Activision game will sell bad on NX.
Nintendo doesn't target the same audience as Activision.

Skylanders has always had a decent audience on Nintendo systems (the best selling ones are on the Wii, and the WiiU version is the best selling one of the 8th gen). And if Crash makes a return, it could sell well on Nintendo, platformers sell well on their systems.

Activision doesn't need to focus their traditional franchises on the NX, they can find success if they pick the ones that target Nintendo's userbase the best.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Even though Spiderman's film rights are owned by Sony?

I thought they worked out a deal with Disney to get Spiderman in the avengers movies.

They did? That's news to me, but great news. I wish Disney could acquire the rights back somehow, but this is better than nothing.

Would be beneficial for Nintendo to get Activisions support (Mostly for CoD). I think EA and Ubisoft support could be a bigger deal though personally (Mass Effect, Fifa, Madden, Battlefield, maybe even Titanfall 2)

Nintendo could always make a 3rd Party Direct. If the NX is going to get as much support as it seems, there should be no probem making a proper 40-50min Direct, with only 3rd parties and indies. That would make the trick.

That'd be great idea although I'd argue it better if they include the 1st & 3rd Party in the same directs, that'd be a more effective way of changing people's perceptions of Nintendo. If they could have a September/October Direct and have world exclusive trailers and gamelay videos from Final Fantasy XV, Dragon Quest 11, Mass Effect Andromeda, Destiny and have them side by side with Zelda and Mario etc I think that would be very effective. If news articles read "New Call of Duty Map revealed during Nintendo Direct" small things like that would go on to make a big difference. Securing those exclusive reveals for Directs could be what Nintendo moneyhats instead of exclusive DLC and Marketing rights.

Although I was actually more concerned about how they market it to the general public. They can't do this anymore...

Name the console something fresh/modern/high tech sounding (NX is perfect imo), make it look cool, sleek and not just a black rectangle, have bundles which combine big third party brands and Nintendo's own IPs (Zelda+Mass Effect, Mario Kart+Fifa, Smash+Cod). They can do the "Zelda +1 of these selected games" type retail bundles if Sony or Microsoft buy Exclusive marketing rights for the big titles. And of course they'd still have stand alone and E rated bundles too, but they need to branch out a bit more

Show World Exclusive content in their D

I agree with these ideas. The only people who watch Directs are hardcore Nintendo fans who don't need marketing. We're the ones digging for leaks trying to find stuff out on our own.

Problem with that is that bungie controls destiny and bungie has a long term exclusive relationship with PlayStation. And Pokemon certainly don't guarantee a large user base for non-nintendo games and Activision knows that.

Activision is the publisher. They have control. Activision is the ones that set that 500 million dollar budget. Its why people got so mad that Bungie jumped right into bed into Activision. Activision will decide what happens with Destiny 2. Same as EA deciding Titanfall 2 goes to PS4.

Sorry but Activision will do nothing to anger bungie. And the entire 10 year $500 million budget is cofunded by PlayStation. Why do you think PlayStation gets exclusive marketing, dlc, early dlc, early beta access, and bungie showing up at their press conferences. It could happen after the original 10 year contract ends but not before.

"Activision is interested in bringing Beyond Destiny to NX due to the fact you can play local and online multiplayer between units at the same time"

What does this even mean?

Call me old but I can only play online or local.  Not both at the same time.  Do they men like split screen online mulitplayer.  Where you and a friend are playing online with each other but sitting on the same couch?

I read that as local multiplayer between the home and handheld versions of NX, while also being able to play online.

But who knows.

That's funny because this is the same guy who leaked the NX rumor with the bluetooth functionality, and people were interpreting that as a single hybrid console in that thread.

Want this to be true.

Bloodlines could also be the codename for the game right?

Yes ;)
